Though bottom left switch on the mc6 presumably saves you any embarrassment ….

I know you can do a lot with midi, but I don’t want to ask what, or who, the bottom middle switch on the aux switcher turns on

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
Si600 replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
And I got to rehearsal this evening and.... it all fell into place. No More Heroes was bob on, even if I say so myself. -
I've worked with a few singers I'd like to do that to!
-
Seems like an expensive way of doing it, BD used to use and introduced me to a guy based in Coventry for repairs and ive used him ever since, but as long as they do actually reimburse! Surprised EBMM don't have authorised repair shops in the UK.

Thanks - it’s just for home use, with a tc electronic bh250

Fender Precision Steve Harris with hum
Hellzero replied to Asllan Pizzatto's topic in Repairs and Technical
The SPB1 is an excellent pickup without any issue when bought new (some people are selling defective items without shame), so I'm guessing a not fully grounded shielding (the pickup cavity must be grounded too) and maybe too many grounding wires creating ground loops... A neat and clean wiring is always the best. -
Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!

That was so easy to set up the aux switch! 👏 to Morning star -
Me too. The UK has been officially metric for over 60 years, it's about time people started moving out of the 19th century.

tauzero started following World String Change Day 2025
-
I've just had an email from Strings Direct telling me that tomorrow is World Strings Change Day. At about £30 a bass plus a tenner per guitar, that's about a thousand quid I've got to find, not to mention two days of work. I think I will ignore it and hope it goes away.

Buy some Rotosound RS66, they will be bright for a few days and will have the same tone for at least a decade afterwards.

Indeed, sorry. I do have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about the metric system. Certainly better than one of those! Ahhhhhhh, the iPhone 4? Seems a perfectly sensible height to me. I asked him how much he weighed but then I think that's volume? I'll submerge him in the bath...

Only bought this a couple of weeks ago from another Basschat member, given it a run out at a couple of rehearsals but just isn’t my kind of sound so I’m listing it back up for what I paid for it. Rat based distortion with bass and treble eq controls, can do the lower gain thing but really shows what it can do at higher gain sounds. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers!

First outing with a metal band in drop A, next week is a pop rock covers band. Nothing I can complain about - sounded huge.

My first foray into modding a bass which I have dubbed “The Paiste Bass “ due to an old Paiste sticker on the rear.. This is an old plywood body that had been rough painted by the previous owner. It had Warlock shaped horns which I have taken off and rounded into a more traditional shape.I have sanded back the paint, oil finished the bare wood and then clearcoated with gloss nitrocellulose. It features a new gloss maple Chinese neck which I have rolled the fretboard edges dressed the frets so they have lovely smooth fret ends. The decal is blended in.with. Polyurethane clearcoat. I can guarantee that there is not another bass in existence like this one. You can see from the photos, which form part of the description, that it has a heavy relic vibe. The action and sound are lovely and it plays far above its price point. It was not created to look perfect but to be a no-nonsense gigging beast that performs brilliantly without the worry of it getting knocked, dinked or dented. I have tried to make it something that really works for the gigging player. It is truly more than the sum of its parts. As I built this bass, I can bore you in great detail with its journey along with photos as well . SPECS: Bass weight 8.7lbs Wilkinson PJ pickups Wilkinson Bridge Bloodstone Guitars upgraded PJ electronics - volume/volume/tone Nitro gloss finish on body Gloss poly Maple neck No fret wear as neck is new Truss rod fully working Schaller type strap buttons D’Addario EXL165 strings 0.45 - 0.105 Fully set up and intonated ready to go Again, this bass plays like an absolute dream and I would be happy to keep it in my collection and to gig with it. The bass comes with a new 10mm padded Donner gig bag. Any questions or queries, please message me and I can send more photos as well if you wish. Collection from Fleet, Hampshire and you are welcome to give it a trial play on collection to ensure that it all works and you are happy. I am absolutely open to sensible offers.

These were equivalent to the Realistic/Tandy gear of these old days, not very powerful, but totally usable.
