  4. Crossroads - Cream
  5. @Chienmortbb @Pow_22 Thanks for the information. With all the talk of valve tone and the thump of class A/B power amps and the heft - there, I said it 😱 - that you get from old school amp designs like this, coupled with what I think is pretty much a give away price, I'm surprised this is still hanging around. Someone somewhere mentioned that this series of amps wasn't particularly desirable but given that they doesn't suffer from the wooly sound some folks complain of with Ashdown amps I think they're an underrated gem. But as I gig almost exclusively on IEMs these days and have a light weight amp and cab for the occasional dep gig with backline, this is sadly in the way and needs to go to a new loving home.

  7. Up The Junction - Squeeze
  8. Any update @Hobbayne? Did you go quietly, passive aggressive quietly or are you in hiding after going postal?
  9. @kodiakblair Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and taking the time to explain all that. It really helps, and I truly appreciate it!
  10. I have LaBella DTB flat strings on a J bass and I could not be happier with my setup. The sound is pure vintage and the strings have been a huge help to my hands. No more blistering, no more pain, smooth fingering and no more strangling the board. I also use foam near the bridge. I don't miss round strings one bit and I will never go back.
  11. .. and in the end we'll have a '1,5 in 1' instead of 2in1, but nevertheless we're gettin' closer... what do you think of the vertical defretting from 5th fret on a 5str ? someone spoke of difficulties due to radius for the fretted, flat fretboard on the mmwah side...but i don't see the point. stupid i am? flat fretboard for both = solved ?
  12. Here are a couple that came up on FB today. They are two promo videos for the band Elizabeth Fields Collective. I joined the band after the tracks were recorded so a not playing on the tracks. Sadly the band leader passed away during covid from non covid related illness.
  13. Slide It In - Whitesnake
  14. Thanks Peter that’s very kind of you to offer. I’m based in London but I am playing up in Sheffield next month 😉

  16. I’ve had a whole raft of new ideas this week. One has been confirmed as straightforward to implement and will bring some nice improvements. Wondering if it might even make it into the next update. I’m also hoping it’ll open the door to my fleshed-out ideas for having improved patch management directly on the pedal.
  17. It tracks brilliantly. The latest version (V4) has the best tracking by far. You can do loads with just the pedal itself, many users never touch the editor. I’m pushing to revise the factory sound set to include a bunch of these classic patches in the first slots. Many of them are already available amongst the free patches I and others have shared. I’ve also fleshed out UI ideas for stuff that will allow improved patch management directly on the pedal. If you’re anywhere near Sheffield, you could try mine.
  18. @QuatschmacherI’ve never managed to have a go on the Future Impact. Not sure I’ve ever seen one in the flesh in fact. They’ve clearly got a lot going on under the hood in terms of synth architecture. Not mad keen on bass gear that may/may not need an editor though. If one does crop up on my travels I’ll be sure to have a play though; I’m intrigued as to how it responds under the fingers.
  19. I've got my last set of Black Sadowsky 5's on my MTD great strings they were made by LaBella for Sadowsky i don't know who makes the new Blues
  20. I bought a bass from Gus. Very quick delivery, all as advertised. I'd be pleased to deal with him again. Thanks Gus
  21. I tried the head upstairs with with different cab. Not as buzzy, but still there. Oddly enough when I would move the Pbass around the sound would change. @ClusterOne may be on to something as it or the cords seemed to be acting like an antenna (maybe). I tried my 500 iii and did notice some of the same thing when in front of the cab downstairs. I never noticed it before because the two fans cover it up, unless right in front of the cab. Not as loud, but something there nonetheless. I think Wed night I will take it to where it will get the most use and see what happens.
  22. Chute Me Again - Metallica
  23. Down The Dustpipe - Quo
  24. Well, baby steps for now. We are still establishing but none of it would be possible without the trust of those who put deposits down for the first batch of necks. So Im incredibly grateful for their support. I'll find a way of better recognising them at some point.
  25. Rehearsal... really a catch-up as we (Bendricks Rock) haven't gigged for about 6 weeks. most of us met at the pub for a chat beforehand to agree new songs. Drummer was late so went straight there... no booking. Turns out my "That's great, 8-11." email wasn't interpreted as a 'yes'... but they had a room free and it was the best one (nearly twice the size with a high ceiling, no extra cost). Session went ok, we just focused on about ten songs where we felt things can get scrappy. Did some bvs for the first time since covid hit three weeks ago. Still got a bit of a cough but coped ok. My new earplugs are great with the 12dB inserts. I've used them three times now. Quieter but still loud enough to feel engaged, full range with clarity but cymbal crashes and snare hits have the edge taken right off.
  26. Dust to Dust - Misfits
