How far have you travelled to pick up a Bass?
Hellzero replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
For the record, a guy made a 1600 kilometres round trip to come to my place to buy the 1976 Fender Twin I was selling for peanuts and he barely slept. I offered him tons of coffee and a meal before he drove back and asked him to call me when he was home sound and safe, which he did and told me he was going to a festival a few hours later... -
Jack started following Helix or Kemper?

For what is worth I had a Kemper, bought a Helix, then sold the Kemper. The Kemper seemed hyper focused on exactly capturing the sounds of 'proper' rigs and I just wasn't that interested. I just wanted good sounds, didn't really care about how authentic they were. Both units sounded great, so I picked the Helix as the effects and the ui were much better.

Spookily, I went from Edinburgh to Derby and back to buy an Ovation Elite Collector's six-string once upon a decade. If I remember, the shop may have been called Charles Faulds? -

Hey Warwick owners. Just wondering whether there’s anyone near Colchester who might own a streamer stage 1 or a thumb that might let me have a noodle. Would like to try before I buy.

From my bed to the front door. 😂 It's only a small country in Northern Ireland. hahaha Mark -
I’m just weighing up how to do an updated photo…don’t think I’ve got enough couch real estate…

Literally five seconds through the front door and my wife is going, 'You have to watch this!' May I present to you, San Jose's 'The Graystones'. These guys are not even teenagers yet. The burpy tone that the bass player gets is quite glorious. They're covering Sade, Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp, Adele. 10/10.

Yo Stubs, A more than impressive collection there. Might I bother you for your thoughts/impressions regards the 60's Fender P? Quite fancy one of those and would value your opinion. Best Snorks

Well first rehearsal done and it felt like the last 5 years hadn’t happened and that I’d never left, sounded great, really tight, and the JMJ really worked - tho I had to use a thinner pick to coax some top end nastiness. Even my backing vox were to standard, which was the area I thought I might be lacking in. Overall am pretty pleased.

I've done a 1200 kilometres (around 750 miles) round trip to buy a Leduc U-Basse 6 from my place to a small town in Switzerland, I was younger and driving was part of my job (no, it's not linked to trucks). And I've done regular 600 kilometers (around 375 miles) round trips to sell, trade or buy instruments/amps in Paris. -
2 metres tall? It must be a bronze record!

I hope I have described this cab correctly it is the Barefaced two twelve cabinet non tweeter and is an early issue of the cab. It is simply the best cab I have ever owned. Why sell it? Well I am not playing the big venues any more and am downsizing to a barefaced midget. This cab is in good condition only a handle has been replaced and it has lived in the Roqsolid cover since new and never driven to its full potential. The cover has a board inside to protect the metal grille.Collection possible from the Glasgow area £540. or 24 hr. Courier to mainland. U.K. £20

Yamaha DXR 8 Active Speaker This unit has been used as a keyboard monitor and comes with brand new Yamaha outdoor semi waterproof cover and mains lead. It is in good condition although it has lost its control knob caps. Everything works as it ought to. It is in very good cosmetic condition It’s very powerful for an 8” active cab. Great little multi purpose speaker. The original woofer has been replaced with a recommended Fane equivalent. Power Output: Dynamic: 1100W (LF: 950W HF: 150W) / Continuous: 700W (LF: 600W HF: 100W) Frequency Range: 57Hz - 20kHz Inputs: XLR-3-31 x1 , INPUT2: Phone x2, INPUT3: RCA PIN x 2, THRU: XLR3-32 x 1 (Parallel with INPUT 1 ), LINK OUT: XLR x 1 Pole Mounts: 2 options - 1 straight and 1 angular socket for mounting at downward angles Dimensions: 280mm (11") x 458mm (18") x 280mm (11") Weight: 13.5kg (29.8lbs) Pickup preferred but I can post at buyer’s cost. It is very well built and the packed weight will reflect this so I envisage it will be around £20 to post it. UK only. Priced to reflect the replacement driver and lack of control caps.
