Wow! The prices are absolutely bonkers ! I salute those of you who persevered and proceeded with your purchase 👏👏 From the London O2 perspective I have mixed feelings about that venue . The £5 paid to see Metallica there was a total bargain ! The actual seat was possibly the most scared I’ve ever been at a gig ! We were within touching distance of the ceiling where the beach balls were released for the whisky encore! The hardwired gig by Metallica at the same venue although not quite as high, was just as scary ! Getting to and from the bar was a nightmare, and if I sneezed it would have been death! Then Hetfield says “ we’ve broken a record here for the most people at this venue ! “ Obviously by treating paying customers as cattle ! Not the fault of Metallica ,but by the owners of the venue taking greed over safety and enjoyment! Too many people ! The venue is massive ,and the walk into the area where your ticket allocation is is like an expedition imho! Fwiw the best gigs I saw there were Rammstein , Rush 1st gig there and both Metallica gigs on the Death Magnetic Tour ! I do like the atmosphere outside the indigo and the bars in that area. Things may have changed since the clockwork angels gig there !

You kinda just did 😉 It's only a few years old, MIM. I got it from a member here who already had the black pick guard on it. I added a drop D tuner and ashtrays later then removed the ashtrays and just put cream coloured covers on the pups. Still original pickups. I want to do something a bit mad with this like put an MM pickup in the P sweet spot or add another P pickup at the bridge.

Good luck with that. I imagine that at least one of them will channel their inner diva.

I wondered this too. This lead to another thought, when does a player (of any instrument) start to employ a tech? I mean, the load in & out and set up of a gig is hardly to most fun part of being in a band, but when does your ego/bank balance decide that turning up, playing and going home is acceptable/needed?

It's a year since Nick's funeral service at Peterborough Cathedral today. 737 ! friends, family and musicians attended. Still blows my mind to think of the whole lotta love everyone shared on that immense day. 🫶 Every time I pick up my bass he's with me (although don't think I will ever get the slap thing 😊) Another gig is planned for June 21st to continue his legacies, two local charities are to benefit from his memorial last year which is phenomenal 🎶 Thanks for your support, BC is a safe and welcoming place to be 🤟 Hope to see you all again soon. Great with an additional cab but I’d only use one on its own for the smallest of gigs. The guys I play with are loud. As has been said previously, the size of the cab and the laws of physics limit it.

FWIW I play in a stupidly loud pub rock band and have happily used an Elf and Barefaced Super Twin at a couple of gigs, no PA support, and I’ve kept up with a heavy drummer and two loud guitars who don’t know the meaning of volume controls or indeed EQ (as in they have way too much of my sonic space in their tones too). I am having a discussion with them all next week about being more sensible going forwards, we’ll see how it goes 😆

A little tip I thought I'd pass on. In addition to clearing out my ebay watch list and FB marketplace saved items, today I unfollowed the new pedal/pedalboard threads on here. Pedals are an insidious threat to abstinence, so I thought it best to limit my exposure to them. Sorry, pedal aficionados in those threads, not being unsociable - just a bit of self preservation...

Managed to get through ok in the end on O2 priority, however you could only buy the decent seats in pairs for £210 a ticket (I only need one) which was frustrating, and seats further round far away from the stage were still over £150 so have decided to give it a miss
