  2. On the contrary, I've received excellent out of warranty support from other companies... just Focusrite who were particularly poor
  3. I have just ordered an EHX Tri Parallel. No idea if I actually need one, but I think I *might*? I think this counts.
  4. Simply Redo Depeche Mole Modness The Cart The Sax Pistols
  5. Here are a few photos of my new Vintage Reissued VJ74
  6. Just bought a set of Spector inlays from Clarky to pimp my Legend 4X. It was a very smooth transaction and postage was super fast.
  7. In great condition ideal book and discs for beginners, £10 posted.
  8. I'll have two, please.
  9. "No, it really wouldn't be interesting in a situation like a Bass Bash." My point was only that you'd be amazed and suprised at what talks Basschat peeps have found interesting at the various Bashes over the years...
  10. So it's YOU making it stressful, then Now seriously: how hard is it to make sure you're in tune in advance? (and I don't mean 'you' you, but a generic you while giving a particular version of stink-eye to one particular guitarist I know...)
  11. Oh, it's most definitely not just you! 😂
  12. Seen it a lot of times since its release, but it's always a delight. 😊
  13. Nigel bought some Spector-style inlay stickers from me and all was excellent!
  14. 2400£ !
  15. It was easy for me - I did this at school, where MD stood for Master's Detention, and as I had a few of those it was simple to remember. So the Motor was on the left and the Dynamo on the right.
  16. Just to be clear the price I am asking is £3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.

  18. Two gigs this week. Wednesday at the rock and roll club was a good one - old friend of ours on drums who is really easy for me to lock on with, so it made for an enjoyable evening. Some people in from South Africa who danced most of the night, and were most complementary. Usual mix of stuff, with me doing what’s now appearing to be a weekly Chuck Berry medley. As some of them are so similar it’s easy to mix them up, although I seem to remember Chuck did this too sometimes so let’s just put it down to authenticity. P-bass Lyte into Hartke 3500 head / Loud 4x10 cab. Then last night I was depping with some friends in their pub rock band. Bit of a strange one as they were booked to replace another band who dropped out, and they were an Irish style kind of singalong bunch! Event was a birthday party at a nice local country pub, and when we got there I didn’t think it was going to be very good for us. First set only had a couple of dancers, but after a break the audience loosened up and we had most of them up at some point. We got a bit loud as a result, but nothing to scare the horses really. My old mate John Cambridge on drums ( ex- Bowie etc) meant a good gig for me. I love his playing and we gel really well, and he’s also great company, very funny ( although that might not be evident in the pic below where he looks rather serious). Songs included ‘Missing You’ ( by John Waite ), some Small Faces stuff and ‘Somewhere in my heart’ by Aztec Camera, as well as some other stuff you’d expect from geezers our age. P- Lyte into Rumble 500 combo, my go to these days. Finished around 10.45 pm, home by 11.30.
  19. ATS LBA-5 MKIII boutique bass amp, condition as new. 2 channels and 600W @ 4 Ohm. Only 1.9 kg. Including original gigbag.

  20. It’s not often that I agree with @tauzero but this time i do. Play across from the fifth string when it’s easier than using open strings, don’t expect to find uses for notes lower than E, they don’t come up that often
  21. I was reviewing the Jaco Pastorius 'Modern Electric Bass' instructional video last week, for the first time in about 25 years! It was really interesting to watch and learn from. One of the exercises in the video is an arpeggio exercise that gets you flying around the whole fretboard. It's really great watching Jaco explain the exercise and to hear him play it - his tone is awesome! This exercise is perfect if you want to master your fretboard, work on your technique, and discover more about harmony. In my latest YouTube video I break this Jaco exercise down and explain how to play it. There is a free PDF link in the video description. Enjoy!
  22. I bought one from @Len_derby - I find it very useful, unless it has a huge body it really won’t compete volume-wise with an acoustic guitar, but it’s still audible for jamming
  23. I'm thinking 'lovely bass spoilt by peculiar headstock...' then I realised it's on a grab stand!
  24. Looks close to Pantone 600 to me.
