  1. Past hour
  2. Good idea. However, it is probably only creating a business opportunity for the artists' lawyers.
  3. I don’t fly really but personally I don’t like the way some engineers treat bass in PAs - loads of low lows and nothing else. I generally dial something in at home using some nice cans - and send that to FOH from the BassRig. If it sounds bad out front it ain’t my fault 😆. I have a plan for a small “different sounds” board that I can patch into channel 2 of the Quartermaster on my main board.
  4. Gotta love those taxes aye? 🙃 I can come down a little, but not enough to warrant getting a new one at 25% imports. 😆
  5. I was going to make this point too. I used to have an old Park valve head which was designed for bass but was bought off me by a guitarist who reckoned it was the beat amp he'd ever played though. I assume this is why the original Fender Bassman amps are so popular with guitarists too. GLWTS
  6. I spot an opportunity for cunning guitar companies to sell "signature" models without having to pay the artists. Look out for the new Steve Via model from Ibanez any day now.
  7. Is there really much of a difference between mk1 and mk2? I sold my original, missed it, picked up a mk2 again after a gap, so never got to A/B them.
  8. Being very boring and going back on topic (sorry 😆) - last night was gig #3 of the Katy Hurt tour, at Hot Box in Essex. Wicked venue, great engineer, backline supplied by Ashdown. Sounded fantastic, we played well to a packed room who seemed to enjoy themselves. Bass was my ACG RetroB (nothing else has had a chance since getting it tbh, it’s perfect for Katy’s music) and shoes were some new grey suede Chelsea boots to replace the black leather ones which hurt my feet in Bath. Shirt was one of Gab’s (guitarist) because I left mine on the back of the door when I went to work first thing yesterday 😆 Photo shamelessly stolen from Facebook
  9. As new Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus. Excellent condition, runs off battery or standard 9v, gold standard for bass chorus’s - I am using a Flanger now for the small amount of modulation I need and that takes up less room so this gets the chop. £50 Shipped, may trade - have other stuff up for sale (Providence Comp, Markbass Boost/Filter etc) always happy to work deals out. Particularly interested in low gain saturation pedals but try me with anything
  10. Price dropped to £1950 🎸
  11. I’m left handed! I play air bass left handed but actual bass right handed. I wouldn’t know where to start with a left handed bass!
  12. I started as an Instrument Apprentice in 76 and found myself using both imperial for older kit and metric for any new kit purchased. In those days Instrumentation was more pneumatic control in psi with new or foreign kit coming in barg. Temperatures varied from Fahrenheit to Celsius to Kelvin Pressures from psi to Barg to BarA (atmospheric) Distance was a combination of imperial and metric Weight was pounds / stones to Kg Coming from an age where holidays abroad meant conversions to francs, drachma, Pesetas and eventually Euros. Happy days. Dave
  13. Fantastic 😍
  14. Zoom BTA-1 Bluetooth adapter to connect your multi effects to the Zoom Guitar Lab software. Unused, unopened and no longer required.
  15. Bah, looks like there's a 25% import VAT on used goods, even on private sales. That brings the price on this up towards £2k including shipping, which is getting close to the price of a new Dingwall I'll get back to you if I figure something out 👍
  16. Laurence Cottle used one for a good while and always sounded epic, to my ears, better than the GB bass.
  17. AJC08

    East Pre Amps

I've even found his profile on here and dropped a message but nothing for weeks now. Anyone in the know or have any alternatives at all? Thanks for the replies so far though all
  18. Very nice! I'll have to check our dumb-ass import rules to make sure that I'm not hit with a 25% import VAT on a private used sale, and then do some quick budgeting
  19. Ah ha, I've been where you are! I've had quite a few BF cabs. I started with the 10s, and loved them. But in my naivety at the time, I though moving up to 12s would be the same but bigger and better. I was wrong, I don't like the 12s for the same reasons you're talking about. They reproduce everything that goes into them from the top to the bottom. They do sound massive though. The sound I have in my head is rounded, warm, fat and punchy, but has no top end, very old school. I went back to the BF 10s, a Three10 to be specific, and I could not be happier. With careful amp choice and eq I could get close to what I wanted with the 12s, the best I managed was with a Tecamp Puma 900 (same as an Eich T900) with the Taste control very much cranked over to the Rich side. Rob
  20. Bump for a pretty bass. GLWTS
  21. Yes, that can be arranged. I have sent a bass guitar to the Netherlands previously, so some experience getting them out the U.K. to the new owner safely. 🙂
  22. I regrettably have an aversion to the feel of old strings, to me they don't have that responsiveness against the fingers. I'm aware this is a bit OCD as I don't actually mind the duller tone. The frequency of little parcels of bass strings arriving through the post has become a "talking point" with my other half!
  23. Oh I've priced the H9 based on other sales I've seen, if you're after one and I'm way off shoot me a line
  24. Would you consider sending this abroad (Norway) at all?
