This thing is messed up, but I’ll use it anyway! The top driver works, bottom driver has taken a knock sounds like the coil is out of alignment - scratchy noises on excursion. Took the back off - carcass is particle board, and damaged around the top speaker, which also has a torn cone! Despite this, it doesn’t sound too bad with a bass going through it! Plan of action: wire up top speaker only, leave bottom speaker in situ and use as-is for an unusual but decent sounding music room guitar cab. Still no info whatsoever on Google. Anyone even heard of the brand before?

Barefaced Big Twin 2 Gen 3 or 2 x BB3 stack
Lozz196 replied to Paddy Morris's topic in Amps and Cabs
I think two BB3s should work just fine, from recall, having had both, two of the BB3s would stack approx the same size/height as the BT so essentially the same cab, but in a more convenient to move set-up. -

Barefaced Big Twin 2 Gen 3 or 2 x BB3 stack
chris_b replied to Paddy Morris's topic in Amps and Cabs
My take is that the smaller, lighter, modular option is always best. So 2 x BB3's would be my choice. On the loud gigs I use my older BB2 with a Super Midget. I can also use my SC with the SM and can use all of them individually, depending on the gig. IMO modular is the way to go. -
No they definitely weren’t really brothers. Scott Walker was such an influential figure in modern music. And by all accounts not too shabby on the bass too. The 30th Century Man documentary is really worth a watch. And of course the Scott 1-4 albums are all just superb. I might start referring to Paul McCartney as “that Beatle” on here from now on though, just for shits and giggles! 🤣

If it's recorded backing you can't rush, plus the rest of the band won't make any mistakes. Have a good one. Eat early if you can.

1Kay bought a compressor pedal from me and paid right away. I think we both underestimated the complexity involved in shipping it to the US but he was very patient while I sorted out the paperwork. Really nice guy with great comms. Deal with in complete confidence.

You've only had one bass for 2 weeks, so I'd say it's too soon to choose between them.

I totally agree, the problem arises when people price and describe them as all original when they are far from being. It’s not a problem when they’re priced accordingly.

Keep putting this on and off for sale, but have now committed to selling it. This is the same pedal as the now famous Taylor Shift but with a different visual design. It includes a low pass filter which sounds great and the octave circuit is one of the best OC-2 clones out there. Can either ship or happy to meet anywhere in London. Thanks for looking.

These two are my current favourites , both hollow bodies. The big orange Gretsch is the main one , just picked up the batwing.

Ok so update. I have given up on the black theme for now as it was getting a bit expensive. Main reason was that I couldn’t find any tuners that would use the original screw holes apart from some really cheap ones which might have been worse quality than what’s on the bass already. It’s gotta work well and look good. So for the moment I’ve got a brushed alloy pick guard which is a big improvement on the white original, and a Fender hi mass bridge and new strings (current ones are not nice) . I’m also upgrading the electronics as the originals are a bit scratchy to be honest. Keeping the PU’s as I think they sound good. So a big change nonetheless but not as big as planned. Spending around £120 on it might seem a little crazy but I’ve got a P with a jazz neck with for £290 which a pretty good I think. Just need everything to arrive and I’ll get pics to show the upgrades.

I agree! I don't see the point of owning an instrument that is pristine and with all original parts. If the instrument has had parts replaced, refretted etc then that is because its a brilliant instrument that has been enjoyed and used and in some cases have really interesting stories and history linked to them. My p bass has one pre CBS and one post CBS pickup. Obviously, one had died and back then, pickups rewinds weren't a thing so whoever owned it at the time went to a music store and ordered in a replacement fender pickup for it! I think it's easy to lose sight with these vintage instruments that back then they were just merely tools! 😂

@JPJ interesting about putting out too much light - another band I know are using the Stairville CLB5 bar and saying it's too bright for audience and they have to point it upwards to ceiling! Was the iColor adjustable on brightness - doesn't seem to be an option with the Stairville? I do like the more compact setup of the Stairville though, compared to our now long-in-the-tooth Chauvet Gigbar 2, and thinking of potentially getting a Stairville: CLB2 to delivers a steady, clean white light for band on stage, and a CLB4 sound to light for dance floor Which they can be set up to do without need for DMX. Still researching options though!

LOL I couldnt tell one Walker Brother from another so I just generalized. PS I dont believe they were brothers, nor Walkers for that matter.Their surnames were Engel,Maur and Leeds (Wiki)

Nicely done 👍

1. I've rarely used pedals, and when I have I've usually lost interest very quickly 2. I know a lot of other players who should try the same experiment (always funny when a guitarist playing around with their 24-unit board finally finds a combination that s/he as well as the rest of the band prefer only to realise they just hit bypass)

Has anyone bought a JPTR pedal recently? I’ve recently ordered a Deluxe Jive 10th Anniversary Edition handed over my £ dosh and to be honest didn’t realise it was a pre order and by the looks of it could take a ‘while’ I’d have thought the best scenario as a business would be for them to make a batch then sell them, can’t get a reply out of them with a guesstimate on delivery timescale. Anyhoo I’m sure it will be worth the wait however long that might be

I've wrapped scratchplates before , I had a ebay bitsa with an " interesting screw layout " , bit of cheap matt black worked wonders and it wore well for years. I ended up giving the bass away to a friends daughter who was playing guitar and wanted to expand her vocab to bass as well i bet its still good. Oh found pics from .... " weird pearl to black ... dont worry the status didnt go anywhere it was in a gigbag after a run out
