  2. That's a great app, thanks Bill
  3. I do agree Tom, but without the original packaging, I'd be concerned about sending this out into courier world. I also much prefer potential buyers to confirm they are happy with the item in person before they purchase. However, if a buyer would be prepared to arrange collection by their preferred courier I could source appropriate packaging.
  4. Fingers crossed!
  5. Warman Firebucker? Or, These Roswell's would look smart on a beetle bass and keep it in tge HB family https://www.musicstore.com/en_GB/GBP/Roswell-Pickups-LGM101-N-CR-Gold-Foil-Mini-Humbucker-Neck/art-GIT0053231-000
  6. Today's gig was at the street fair in Charlbury, doing the usual jazz-ish originals. A strange gig as our sets were between those of singers/acoustic guitarists doing covers in the beer garden of the pub on the other side of the street. We could hear but not see them, so we had to be ready to go at the appointed time as soon as applause was heard, just in case they slipped another song in. They were similarly ready when we were playing. A video of some of our performance is available, though the intro was missed as the person filming was trying to move out of the rain. As the video shows, some kitchen sink/shelf units were out in the yard where we were performing - apparently the venue was undergoing some refurbishment. These turned out to be a convenient place to stash my bass bag and amp cover when not playing.
  7. One of the guitarists goes through the PA sometimes. On one occasion he'd somehow turned up his volume vastly, and the sound from the Altos was both mind-buggeringly loud and very clear. I put a limiter on the mixer after that.
  8. The smaller Altos are another 'affordable' brand. Our club uses bigger Alto powered speakers andcthey sound find and have proven vastly more reliable than HH. Last night we had a drum machine and then a guitar through them without backline no problems (except the guitar turned up far too loud).
  9. I want to trade my Broughton Audio Mastering Equalizer for a Broughton Sunray. Comes in excellent condition with just velcro on the bottom. The original packaging is also included.
  10. Evening all, I have an acoustic guitar that's worth saving but the bridge needs re-gluing. Does anyone know what glue/tools I'd need to do this properly? Hide glue seems to be the typical choice, and I assume some clamps with a suitable throat depth too... If anyone knows how to do this and the specific materials/tools needed (bear in mind I do need to operate on a budget to make this guitar worth saving!) I'd really appreciate some links to places where I can buy the right glue, clamps etc. to do this myself. Thanks! Russ.
  11. I use Alto TS308s for FOH and TS408s for monitors. I did have them the other way round but the 408s are better shaped for floor monitor use and for some reason it seemed to improve the situation with feedback. When the speaker failed on my bass amp, I put the bass through the PA and it was fine, which was rather impressive - didn't want to make a habit of it though.
  12. Took it back to Fair Deal today and they've booked it in for a repair after taking the side off (with my assistance) and finding that the speaker had disintegrated, as I'd predicted. Just hope that they can source the correct replacement - I did tell them that Polar Audio stock them.
  13. Today
  14. Yep, they're branded Neutrik, but I think that's just the plugs. They're made to order but I can't remember where I got this from, maybe someone else can advise. 🙂
  15. Nipping through my fingers - ABBA
  16. So @Chimike, assuming Andertons had stock, what are your first impressions? 🤓
  17. Selling as I swapped them out for Zen Blades. They're a couple of years old but are working fine. They are the Bartolini P2 size. Reduced as they've seen some use: £150 I'll include postage to mainland UK.
  18. Well... First, the chaos of setting up three bands well (solo singer plus band) using the same mixer with two guitars using the desk, a drum machine and an electronic kit. Somehow it worked, but the second band's guitarists did the "crank after soundcheck" thing which scared off a few punters and did their sound no favours. Their bass player (also the organiser) used my kit. Our set was as interesting as promised, despite Fritz doing his back in which made it a little tamer. In my labcoat I wheeled in the patient (we skipped the straitjacket). He shambled to the mic as Nigel the specialist delivered the narration. I handed Fritz an acoustic guitar so he could start his 'creative therapy'. He played the Fractured Persona song with us backing quietly. The first four songs I went fretless Maya P. As it cranked up the fourth song was pretty punky so over to fretted P and plectrum. Then back to fingers except for Kill the Klown, which featured a sledgehammer clown attack on our singer who reponded by chainsawing the clowns head off. The prop chainsaw was wirelessly miked up too We ended up doing our encore, largely without our rhythm guitarist who truned the volume down on his guitar and forgot. We knew some of the songs were memorable and it was surprising to see people joining in some of the choruses, so comfortable we weren't just a novelty show. Lots of decent feedback despite obvious first gig hiccups. Memorable for us and the audience.
  19. Very high quality Hall reverb with that lovely infinite reverb effect. Boxed and complete with sticker, guide, unused stick on rubber feet. I’ve tested it and then put it away as it doesn’t have a battery option and I no longer use a powered pedalboard. Like new. Price includes UK postage.

  20. Just got back from a gig where I used one of these, great sounding cab.
  21. Oh my, I think the bass gods are really toying with me; I was looking out for a Tune 5-string a while back (I have the TWB-6 and a couple of the later Korean models). Sadly, funds won't currently allow me to go for it but I can certainly vouch for the quality of these basses. Absolutely! GLWTS. 👍😎👍
  22. Right up my street but no trades is the dealbreaker! GLWTS man and have a bump!
  23. That sounds like something I could use, as I might make some more of these. Do you have any links to where you get these from? An Amazon search was unhelpful.
  24. Most top acts tend to over-use subs as well. I'd say three out of four FOH mixers have no idea how to mix bass. The fourth is a bass player. ☺️
