Interesting, I think our pedals must sound different- I used the PedalPCB schematic. it depends on input signal but mine is distortion with gain below 12oclock and then gets increasingly wave folded as you turn it up. The mix for me lets me blend between wave folded madness and a cleaner signal - it’s gone through a preamp stage which has its own colour but running it with a clean blend in the loop of my hx stomp the effect isn’t much different at all. I had smd resistors, ceramic caps and the diodes in the diode ladder - saved ages soldering!

I've used it as standard on pretty much all my patches for live use, to tighten up the low end. Cut bass at about 50Hz.
-
I've decided to pop it up for sale so... if anyone want's a playable multi-scale with a bit of a sense of humour (and without the wait of an Ali Express order!) - £200 takes it! Would also swap for a head - I'm after something as a backup to my Tech Amp so pretty much anything considered as long as it works! Located in Exmouth, Devon

Thumb 5 NT, 1988: Defretted Thumb with neck reprofiled to JD profile (since this photo it's had an ebony unlined board fitted): JD Thumb made in 1987 - the bass I've had the longest since I bought it at the start of 1988.

Flat neck and clank is absolutely normal. It’s all part and parcel of the Ricky experience. Especially when playing with a plectrum. Embrace it, Enjoy it!

Price drop - £145 includes UK postage Hi, I’m selling my Aguilar Octamizer version 2. Well looked after and very little use. £185 price includes UK Postage. Here’s a bit of info from Aguilar: AN ALL-ANALOG OCTAVE PEDAL THAT CREATES A WIDE RANGE OF MUSICAL SOUNDS AN OCTAVE BELOW YOUR BASS SIGNAL. Modeled with old school and new school needs in mind, the Octamizer features independent volume controls for both the Clean and Octave sounds. This makes dialing in the exact amount of each a cinch. The two discrete signal paths also have their own tone controls that were specifically designed to enhance and expand their musical possibilities. The CLEAN TONE control uses a full spectrum tilt EQ, allowing for the boosting of treble while cutting bass or boosting of bass while cutting treble. This unique circuit allows you to create a clean sound that creates an octave doubling effect or to blend the sounds together for a great thick, snarky synth tone. *Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Proprietary detector circuit for superior tracking Continuously variable multipole low-pass filter for Octave sound Dual filter architecture Full spectrum tilt EQ for clean sound Pedal powered by universal 9-volt power supply only. Not included. Cheers! Michael

Saw joe bonomassa's rory gallagher tribute at the marquee in cork. Blistering gut churning visceral rock and roll - decent volume too (albeit not the best sound and a couple of technical issues but so what). The whole band were on fire, joe and lachy doley (keys) in particular. Bass was courtesy of Aongus Ralston of the waterboys although Gerry McAvoy also sat in for a couple of numbers. Bass was low, full and driving; not an especially articulate sound but that wasnt really the remit - it was perfect for the gig. It must also be noted that mr ralston is a sartorially elegant chap. unusual to see joe upstaged in that respect

I used to post images (photos or whatever...) hosted externally, so as not to load BC servers, or my 'quota', with stuff. It worked for many tears, but I've stopped doing that, now, as my 'host' site, Imgur, have made it very difficult to have an ID and keep it, without having to change Pwd every too often. To such a point that I don't now know how to log into there, and couldn't find any Help from them. I've lots of stuff there, but copied it over to Google (not so good as a host, but they don't mess me about, so...). As it happens, I post far fewer images these days, but for those wishing to post a lot, consider hosting the pics elsewhere..? Not Imgur, though, obviously. -

Lolololololol: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/286628515175 Pasing off an Affinity as a limited edition is bad enough (although I guess they don't do them in orange any more), but trying to pass it off as what is universally acknowledged to be one of the worst signature editions Fender has made yet takes the biscuit. 450 quid for a guitar that cost less than 200 new!

I used the Fuzzdog one, Dirt Dessert. Drive below 2pm is quiet and useless, and between 3pm and 4pm it gets incredibly loud and overdriven very very quickly. I can wah it, yeah. As blend, I assume you're referring to MIX? For me, that's not really a type of clean blend, as it's very much driven and impacted by the DRIVE value. The touch dynamic also changes greatly between low MIX and high MIX, it does not just change the signal balance/level. The bass switch will be removed, as it will be always on. I would be blending the clean bass signal into the driven bubbly mixed signal, but I'll breadboard this out to see if it makes any sense. On the long run when I might actually be selling anything more than 1 pedal per 3 months, I am also planning to have JLC solder on at least the resistors, and maybe some caps (depending on cost), to speed up things. But I also want to give it a go myself first SMT just seems like a different kind of fun.

Agreed. Also while it makes sense that people remove photos as we all have limited capacity on our accounts, I've always found it unusual to the point of being suspicious when people remove all the descriptive text as well -

And if you don't delete the images, you will reach your allowed space limit quite quickly. When my items are sold, I only remove the images for that reason, the rest is remaining, if there was a way to let them without reaching my allowed space limit, I would do so... -
