  2. Just been told about this thread by another user…. I don’t post on here but I have a regular browse… I am the owner of this cab. All I was trying to do was sell it on for a fair price…. Genuinely do not understand how the sale can have generated such negativity. If you don’t like it, ignore it and move on. Why start a thread, for the world to see, thats sole purpose is to criticise and mock….
  3. @d_g knows how to do a relic finish, significantly better than any of the commercially available products including Fender Custom Shop 👍
  4. I couldn’t have written that better myself. That’s my philosophy exactly. All of my basses get played out because I love playing all of them and I’ve always taken good care of them as you have. For example, this was my gigging set up for a decade playing in pub, function and wedding bands… Never had a qualm about taking my Wals out and they never had any mishaps with due care and attention. OK, for an open air gig in dodgy weather I might take my Frankenjazz instead, or I might take it just coz I fancy playing it. My most sentimental bass is my Aria SB700 - my first bass bought new as an 18th birthday pressie by my Mum and Dad. I’ll never part with it but, again, I’ll happily play it out (like at this 80s theme night from last year…)
  5. Up for sale today is my jazz bass, built by dan of dg relics. The bass was built to my spec, with allparts body and neck, sprayed sunburst and then seafoam over the top and then relic'd to look like a bass i saw online. Headstock in matching seafoam, with fender jazz decals that were a custom print job in all gold. Fretboard is ebony to get that old worn look and looks great. It has hipshot ultralite tuners that are aged, aguilar 70s pickups, and a john east preamp. The neck is jazz nut with a fairly thick neck profile, slightly thicker than my 74 jazz. Strung with ti flats by ernie ball. Wilkinson bridge under the cover. It plays well, but could do with a setup, it cost around £1200 to build. Its such a cool bas and barely touched since built, it just doesn't get played now i have my 74 jazz. I really want an old p bass so I would trade for one. Up or down. Photos are from dan himself and shows the build in all its glory.
  6. I think that normal use damage / wear and tear and the odd accident are unavoidable for just about everything. Even for a sitting down jazz performance at some point a music stand is going to get bumped into an instrument, or the player themselves is going to stand up and collide with something. I gave up worrying about that sort of thing years ago as it was limiting my enjoyment of my instruments. I do my best to minimise damage of course, but some things are just unavoidable even if just playing at home.

  13. Years back I had a USA PRS Custom which I did gig but started to leave it in its case and played a USA Strat instead for most pub gigs ! With bass I played live every bass I owned
  14. Ah thanks so much for this! It’s pretty hard to get the word out about these cans all right. They’re pretty special. I’ve used mine with a Glockenklang Bass Art or a Glockenklang Blue Sky. They’re killer speakers. So balanced and articulate. They’re especially good for double bass. I mean I just think double bass is so hard to amplify. Most of the so called acoustic set-ups out there are pretty horrendous. I really loved the Bass Art and Accugroove set-up. Just have had to scale down. Having to use public transport a lot with double bass and amp these days so having the accurgroove and head bass heads is not working out. Thanks for your review of the Accugroove here anyway! Might help entice someone to buy.
  15. Selling this amazing synthy fuzz pedal as I’ve just got a Doom2. Postage included! Slightly negotiable. Clear topper included. No box but will package properly and securely. Any questions, Just message me.
  16. Speedo Freak - Motorhead
  17. Thank you for the input on dates, with that info I have narrowed it down to two: 13th July 3rd August I'll leave that for people to chew over (and see if anyone else chimes in) then it'll be onto deciding on a venue. Which is a posh word for... pub. So gutted that CASC shut, it would have been a stick on for such a meetup
  18. Not really, I just read it as you quoting another manufacturer, and it is actually true what the quote says. Just regardless to that, it is a very good synth, and it doesn't feel restricting at all.
  19. Only capitalist lackeys and lickspittles succumb to the tyranny of melody and its evil master, key!
  20. Is this the giant bodied Ernie Ball 70's acoustic bass with Schaller machine heads? I know what an Earthwood Acoustic Bass is, but I dont recognise that model number. Any photos?
  21. Golden Trunks - Arctic Monkeys
  22. Pendulous Skin - Mastodon
  23. Southbound Pachyderm - Primus
  24. No, silly! It's obviously the Isabel Marant Shirred Paisley-Print Georgette Miniskirt! I always go topless at festivals! (actually, it's the toothbrush. Good piece of kit!)
