  2. The best 5 string Jazz I ever played was a Blade. Superb!
  3. Things are not looking good for Höfner. https://guitar-player.com/stories/gitarrenhersteller-hoefner-beantragt-insolvenz/ "Temporary delivery problems had already hinted that things weren't running smoothly at Karl Höfner GmbH & Co. KG, based in Baiersdorf near Erlangen. Now it's official: "To safeguard the debtor's assets from adverse changes (§ 21 para. 1 and 2 of the German Insolvency Code), preliminary insolvency proceedings will be ordered on December 10, 2025, at 5:05 p.m.," according to the official announcement from the Fürth District Court. Nuremberg-based lawyer Dr. Hubert Ampferl has been appointed as the preliminary insolvency administrator. He will now monitor the company's financial situation and examine whether and how regular insolvency proceedings will be initiated. This doesn't yet mean the end of the long-established company, but it's certainly not a good sign."

Congratulations. I have its Hartwood stablemate, the medium scale Satellite. I was very impressed with the neck on that and the fretwork. The general fit and finish was excellent for the money. In fact, the only things I wanted to change straight away were the strings: far too clanky and very rough feeling. By all accounts the Delta is the better of the two, so I think you’ve snagged yourself an excellent value bass there. Enjoy!
  10. He's been mentioned but I immediately thought Lachy Doley when I saw 'Funky Organ'

I love the overdrive channel isoblock! Soooo good!
  12. Here is the first one I sent back! Probably not quite as bad, but can’t believe I’ve been unlucky 2x in a row. Maybe I should wait a few months for Cort to sack the person responsible for book matching before I get a replacement.
  13. Lovely, glwts.
  14. I believe Cort build for PRS in the Cort factory!
  15. Looking at a Google image search of that bass now. They all look book matched to me. I think yours has been matched from 2 different books! Send it back.....looks a bit pants and it will always annoy you.
  16. I guess it’s always a bit of a lottery buying online on a mass produced bass.
  17. Oh yes - that's horrible - I've had a rant about this before as it's pretty much ruined my enjoyment of the PRS I saved for years to get!
  18. Frankly I’d get a different bass, pretty clear the QC on this model is poor
  19. Like to dig in on occasion so not a fan of ramps
  20. First one… + Sounded Fantastic, had a lovely feeling neck - Neck initially like a banana, had to really crank the truss rod and it took all weekend to get it straight, was a bit worried about the amount of tension, but seemed ok in the end. - Top a bit mismatched - Pickup blend pot crackly Second one… + Great fretwork, can get <1.5mm action - Not sure it sounds as good, bass a bit weaker than 1st one. - Neck feels a bit rough in patches, needs sanding I think. - Top even more mismatched I should have kept the first one 🤦‍♂️
  21. Nice, I don’t think I’ve read anything negative about these Jazzes at all, just seem to get glowing praise from everyone.
  22. It would bother me, irrespective of how well it played and good it sounded, I’d have to send it back.
  23. Don’t think it said either, but every picture/video I have seen of them they are pretty well matched. Interestingly on the inspection card on both basses there are initials in the assembly, setup, electrics boxes but the “finish” box is empty.
  24. Of course. But one need not be an arborealist to know that maple and walnut will have higher density than poplar and spruce, while luthiers know which species give them what they, or their customers, want. Also of course. One disadvantage to high density wood is weight, so to keep the weight down you need to go with some measure of hollowing out the body. Mine I made of all rosewood, neck through, with the bouts made in two pieces, each hollowed out to about 6mm thick. This gives the high density advantages of bright tone, tremendous tuning stability and almost endless sustain without being too heavy. I like the looks of it too.
  25. It’s Sherwood Green Metallic, but can see where you’re seeing the Charcoal vibe. Yes it’s a US Custom Dual J, so a passive J setup with their 44-94 body and neck. This one is chambered for weight-saving, and also has a Series/Parallel switch. And yes, their own pickups as I agree, they’re great. It’s very similar to my US Custom 44-PJ which is elsewhere in this thread. Si
