  1. Past hour
  2. First up, thanks for your kind words, I had so much fun recording it and then making the video (at least my bits), it’s something I treasure. We followed it up with Don’t Give Up, but lockdown was lifted, everyone went back to normal and we never made a video. Yes, there are 4 ladies on the track. I’ve worked with 3 of them and know the other through the making of this track. All brilliant in their own right, but one of them makes my hair stand on end when she sings certain notes, so pure and the loveliest person, so easy to work with too. Funnily enough she’s the only one who isn’t a full time pro musician. Peter Gabriel is my favourite artist, So and Us being my faves, but it’s not all gold for sure (the last album release; meh).
  3. The thread, yes. BC in general, bassists are mostly angels with the odd exception:
  4. These were used very briefly on a Dingwall 6 string. They've probably had an hour of play in the time they were fitted.
  5. That's going to work out expensive when she wants her own W&T - not many basses with a neck as nice as them.
  6. In excellent condition. I don't recall ever using it. I tend to sit down on gigs.
  7. Had this for about 8 years. Light use with a few scuffs. Sat on a board for a while and used as a volume pedal so no longer has the rubber feet. £30 inc. postage or collection from Telford. NOW £25 POSTED Tar! Alex
  8. Bought as a backup to my preamp and no longer required. Nice little pedal for the money. Used at home a couple of times but that’s it. £20 £15 posted or collection from Telford. Tar! Alex
  9. The Thighs of a Cow ~ The Wonder Stuff
  10. As above. This is a 2019 model. Great condition. A few very small blemishes which I’ve tried to picture but are really hard to catch on camera and can’t really be seen unless intentionally looking. (2 on top horn, one near bridge and one or two very little ones near the control plate) Also a little bit of bucklerash as this has been gigged for a year or so but nothing major. No noticeable marks to my eyes on the headstock. Really nice bass. Hipshot tuners which I’m not sure whether or not are standard but they’re on there since I bought it… Recently (3 weeks ago) professionally set up with EB Medium Slinkies. with a slight fret dress, so it’s a really nice low action with no high spots or choking. Honestly, plays like butter, whatever that plays like! I’ve also had the pickup cavity and pick guard copper shielded at the same time so it no longer has that pesky Mustang Hum. Only selling because try as I might, I just can’t seem to make it work for me. The split coil pickup which the Mustang is famous for sounds awesome but I can’t make it fit in my main gig and find myself craving more ‘honk’ that comes from having a bridge pickup. Comes with a full size bass hard case which I’ve adapted to fit the short scale with some wood & foam. Works a treat. Also comes with Schaller S Locks. And, I think I’ve got an old set of Fender flatwounds cut to fit it which I’ll chuck in. The original strap pins are also in the case and I can knock £20 off if you don’t want the Schallers. I can also include the Fender strap for an additional £10. Looking for £650 £630 collected from TF5 where I have very nice coffee and a biscuit or 2 available, and a nice amp you can try through. Or, i think i have a box and can pack up if you wanted to organise a courier. And… I can potentially meet within about 30-40 mins of TF5 . Will consider trades/part trades for short scales especially a Fender Japan Junior Jazz Bass or Gibson Jr Les Paul Tribute, and potentially 5 strings. But, sale is preferred so happy to see what you’ve got. Thanks in advance. Alex

  11. I’ve re-listed this with a price increase due to fix the majority of the issues with it. So… A friend messaged as soon as I posted it last time saying he wanted to buy it. Long story short he messed me around for a couple of weeks and never ended up actually buying it. So, I decided to keep hold of it and get it cleaned up. I took it to my local tech who contact cleaned it and added a new power input jack so all of the crackling has gone. But, he said it needs a new foot switch and it sometimes doesn’t fully engage when pressed the first time. As I was only using it at home I didn’t bother spending more on the switch as he charged me £30 for the clean up and new input. But I’m just not using it so decided to re list it. It was £80 last time so was going to re list at £105 inc postage in order to to get a little back from the clean up spend. Here’s a video of it showing the intermittent footswitch. He said it’s a fairly simple fix, I just didn’t want to spend any more of it at that point. The original listing below… 100% on how to price this but… It’s in desperate need of a service and needs the power connection replacing as it’s a bit loose. Note - this was converted to be powered only years ago and no longer runs on batteries. They go anywhere between £160-£200 brand new with box etc in a good condition. Which, this is not. It was bought for me as a Christmas present in about 2003/4 (Imagine my parents face when they read ‘Russian big muff’ on my Xmas list 😂) Used solidly for about 8 years and has signs of such use including remnants of the gaffer tape I used to use to hold the position of the knobs. It’s sat in storage since about 2011. So, I’m going to put it up at £80 which is half of the cheapest perfect condition, working price I’ve seen. But, I’m not trying to rip anyone off so open to offers on this and wouldn’t write off trades for preamps, Chorus or compression pedals, or cases for short scales. +£5 postage to mainland UK https://youtube.com/shorts/jxTjulbQicg?si=duFNeNoyczDZiy5Q
  12. Congratulations to her. Who said youngers aren't interested in picking up an instrument... Glad to see this and that she's also singing: wow!
  13. That looks fabulous, such a classic 70s colour combination. GLWTS
  14. I sold mine for way less, before Covid, and it was as new, but white.
  15. Nice one, Chris. I will avoid both for now, then. I have plenty of ideas for more obscure transcriptions to be getting on with!
  16. Absolutely brilliant. Some cracking vocals on there and your bass sounds so smooth and warm. Very nice playing. I'm also a fan of some of Peter Gabriel's music but not all but that was so good. Loved the wee vid you made too, it makes a difference to a song when you have a fun vid to watch. Many many thanks for sharing that, i really enjoyed it. Now correct me if i'm wrong but did i count 4 different girls in that clip ? One in particular has an amazing range taking the higher vocal parts her voice remained faultless. I like to hear that kind of vocal line. Dave
  17. John Wayne is Big Leggy - Haysi Fantayzee
  18. Nice Les Paul bass, great colour on the ‘burst.
  19. Just weighed this again......unless something wrong with the scales I am using. I initially stated 3.5kgs so must have been reading the Red marker, but eve so its showing 3.9/just under 4kgs.
  20. I'm pretty stoked how this 2023 model is getting a nice yellowing on the binding. I might get a faded custom pickguard made to match, but I'm happy with the look atm.
  21. I've had a few enquires re courier; to make it easy, UK mainland courier cost (inc 'proper' insurance to £1400) is £35.
