  2. Casual inquiry: would a Monza and Trace TE-1200 (800W at 8 ohms) be a disastrous match? Shame Trace don't do a less extreme powered head (unless you go all the way down to an Elf) (Edit: with my back/neck issues, I couldn't really confortably handle a Monaco ... to provide context)
  3. Wonderful to bring such a cool bass back to life.
  4. I recently bought a Laney Digbeth 500 head and it`s damm sexy Sounds good as well. I also bought a Markbass MB58R 4 X 10 cab. I don`t know if I`m digging the usual MB look but at 16 kg for a 4 x 10 I`m willing to try.
  5. The Black Stone Cherry FB group is very friendly and at least one of the band members occasionally post there - could be worth asking in there if anyone knows what event its from
  6. I don't believe so - I have added the specs from the original seller (and I think you check on Fender Japan too), but it is listed as: Pickups: Hybrid II Custom Voiced Single Coil Jazz Bass (Bridge), Hybrid II Custom Voiced Single I don't know if these are ceramic (I assume not, but they do sound great either way!)
  7. @Ian Somerville bought a G&L Tribute SB-2 from me. Great guy to deal with, good comms, prompt payment, kept in touch throughout. Smoothest of the smooth transactions. Deal with confidence.
  8. Ian Paice by the tone controls
  9. Lincoln Goines through written part for the tune 'Goin' Under' from the 1999 Mike Stern album, 'Play'. Nice easy read. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/goin-under-mike-stern/
  10. Yeah, saw the BSC one. Think there's an Alice Cooper one too up by the Rhythm/Treble switch.

  14. It looks like there's a Geezer Butler, Rob Trujillo and Kerry King on there Geezer by the pickup switch, Rob on the cutaway, and Kerry on the bottom right corner
  15. The one in The Gallery is a nice thing. I tried it the other day. Thin neck, nice tone, looks the part. My reservation is that I think it might be a bit pricey for what it is. But I guess the gallery has overheads that we don't. Your shortscale will undoubtedly be nicer to play, and what with these both being quite 'thumpy' semi acoustic basses, I doubt the scale length will make any real diff to the tone. GLWTS!
  16. Highway star - Deep Purple
  17. Any actually useful responses out there?
  18. I've been quoted two years a while ago for either a standard model or master built/custom shop (right handed). Sounds like Sadowsky Germany are pretty accurate with their estimated delivery times. That is very valuable to know. Thanks. I hope it was worth the wait🙂👍
  19. Flat wound strings and a piece of foam under the bridge are favoured by those looking for that old school, P bass thump (think James Jameson on the old Motown recordings). Stick with what’s on there for the moment, until you work out what you want from it tonally, then you can investigate the many options. Fortunately, there is plenty of help on Basschat in this regards. Nice bass you have there. 👍
  20. I think I bought a lawnmower from Salt Raspberry, many years ago. Nice fella.
  21. Wheels of Steel - Saxon
  22. Bass Direct often have John East knobs in stock: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/east-knob/
  23. And don't forget the Kawai Aures 2 series where you get the same as the ATX-4 plus the option to hear your piano or whatever connected via Bluetooth to it through the very soundboard of the piano itself thanks to transducers exciting the said soundboard. The sound is quite impressive.
  24. For washing it down in the shower.
  25. Now £425 postage excluded David
