OTOH, it's also a lot shorter!

Ah, I've not bought it yet. I've found the manual but it gives no clues, and I've not found any photos of the underside on line!

No. I'm not that bothered, just got to remember to put the handle on the side. 12 battens cut out and drilled, next is the circular saw. Hopefully I will still be decidigital following this operation.

Thanks, this is good to know!

Knowledge is like good food and drink. It's best when shared. ☺️

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
stewblack replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
I appreciate your point. Affordable long scale flats, which are perfectly good strings, are available for about 10 to 15 quid. So for something more specialised I suppose I was thinking 15 to 25 ballpark. Anyway thank you for the info -
It has been all over the place for a while now. I checked it yesterday as I still have piles of vouchers to use up and most of the time the page comes up blank or will tell me I have no more left. I’m at a loss to what else to choose to be honest as I’ve rinsed nearly all the products I want! Shame the new Toney Bass pack isn’t included!

Flipping basses for profit – fair game or not cool?
stewblack replied to Allaboutthebass's topic in General Discussion
Only happened to me once on BC. Sold a bass at a very fair price - which we do here - and the buyer immediately listed it at a higher price. I experienced a feeling as being in the presence of an unexpected bad smell. I just made a point never to deal with said individual in the future. No need to make a fuss. Sure enough they were subsequently outed by another member for untrustworthy behaviour. It wasn't a shock, some folk care more for money than the good things in life. Move on and don't pay them no never mind as my old Pappy never said. -

All very good points 👍 -
I totally agree, but not because of anything you might have written which you may consider to be drivel, but simply that I too appear to be a "Grand Master", which completely baffles me! I come here often for sage advice and information from people who have much more knowledge and experience than I do.

I believe instead of flipping, you’ve flopped. -

Is that the Andy Manners explorer bass I sold (pointy, cheap, etc.). If so, the buyer and I came to an agreement that it could be sold on in London (at the Gallery) and we split the profits between us. That was BC working well. -
A couple of years ago I bought a vintera telecaster custom from cash converters with the intention to flip it as it was priced well below what they would normally go for. I really didn't need another guitar, having bought myself a vintera strat not long before, so I thought I'd have some fun playing it for a month or two then get back what I paid for it plus a little bonus. Unfortunately it is such a good guitar, I can't bring myself to sell it.

An uneducated guess is that there are two opamps on the board (two times two parallel lines). There's some flux on the opamp contacts that can be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol (IPA, nothing to do with ale). Just in case you want to clean it.

A lot of it is sliced off. I can't see it all.

This really chimed with me. This came up last weekend, where I was told that the part I've played in one of the songs needs to be changed. I've played it the same way, as per the record about a dozen or more times, but they've never liked it. We don't rehearse and no one is able to articulate what they'd like me to play instead. This is the sort of thing that could be worked out at rehearsal. Sadly it's not going to happen and I'll be in a different band very soon.

I’ve heard the cab will be ready tomorrow. Apparently, some final work is still being done, which is great news. Now it just needs to make the crossing to mainland Europe. And it will probably be the first LFSys cab in the Netherlands. I have no financial stake in it, and if it ends up disappointing me, I’ll stay quiet and accept the loss.

This Fender Rumble has only had light use in our local church as a bass monitor, so in excellent condition. Comes with a Roqsolid cover and mains lead. The v3 Rumbles are surprisingly lightweight (the 100 a fraction under 10kg) but also versatile in terms of sound with three Eq presets as well as four way tone control and an overdrive circuit DI output on the rear, together with Fx loop in and out, Aux input, Headphone output, Footswitch for overdrive... 100W (RMS) with a punchy 12" speaker makes it a very portable combo for small gigs or for use as a stage monitor Ideally pickup from Uxbridge, but DM if you want to discuss a handover somewhere...

Grand Master and other rankings only reflect the quantity of posts, not the quality, as anyone who has read any of my drivel will attest. @Bill Fitzmaurice is however a proper expert 👍

Coincidentally I used my 8 with a TC Elf last night at rehearsal, I usually go straight to PA but I have a new drummer and we aren't locking in as well as Id like so I thought using back line would be more familiar than PA and monitors for him. The little 8 sounded really lovely straight out of the box and remarkably just like the PA sound. It kept up with the drummer nicely too. I had all the controls set flat and didn't need to adjust anything, I'd say its a good pairing.
