  2. Line 6 HX Stomp XL, selling due to downsizing my board. It's in pretty good nick, it's spent the majority of its time on a pedalboard in a protective case. It currently has some custom and purchased presets on it, but I can reset it back to factory if preferred. It comes with velcro on the back, the rubber feet are in the box. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:

  3. Walrus Audio Canvas Mono DI/LI. Selling due to downsizing my board. Great little pedal with with switchable pad, ground lift, and summing options. Adds a nice bit of colour too! There's currently velcro on the back, but easy to remove cleanly. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:

  4. Pedaltrain Jr Classic with softcase. Selling as I'm downsizing my board, so this is no longer required. Solid board, lightweight, and the bag's in pretty good nick. I mounted my Cioks power supply to it so there are a four badly drilled holes currently covered by the velcro. The velcro adhesive must have melted near a stage light and it dripped onto the paint on the back, but apart from that it's a goodun. Located in Devon. Can meet in person if nearby, or buyer decides on/pays for postage. Here's my feedback thread:
  5. I think you might be right. The Grover tuners and truss rod cover fit the bill. The R font is different to the usual R they use but not too far away from the R of the late80's logo. Never seen it used as just the letter R though and never seen that headstock on a BC Rich, but it looks like the Outlaw body shape to me.
  6. This has been my experience, if I needed to buy a Fender blind, I'd happily buy and MIJ/CIJ, less so a MIA, even less so an MIM, and infinitely less so a Custom Shop given the price:risk ratio
  7. Like some LEGO Mark
  8. I'm totally with you on this.
  9. No idea at all - pretty sure it's not weirdy MIJ - but it's awesome and I want it. 😎 I think it's a custom one-off, that said there's something a bit Ibanez SoundGear-y about the bridge, pickups & control layout, so there may be a donor bass involved. The bass with the 'R' on the head mentioned upthread was a BC Rich Ironbird - that's a coincidence, the font's different & this ain't no BCR!
  10. A few things to unpick. 3 tour managers? Separate sound guy for the vox and band? Joey W on drums! Bonehead in the touring band!
  11. @itu Thank you for that. I went straight to Bourns and they have pots they say are specifically designed for guitars. That gives me confidence. The selectable pots I can see being very useful on active setups to be very sure about the adjustment position. I may approach this passive setup slightly differently. I'd like, if practical with passive pickups, to wire them to run together in parallel or series. I could perhaps use a tone pot for summed output, freeing up the other to have maybe a variable series/parallel adjustment, or switch if I'm dreaming. I'll need to design the circuit. I've found my college folder from 1999, which shows 6 ways to earth an electricity network distribution sub station, and work from there. I seem to recall a Dingwall demo where the pickups could be set series or parallel and it seemed to make my favourite two sounds of the setup. I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know if there are examples of passive guitars or basses wired like this to build my hopes and dreams upon?

  13. If you buy a car, a TV, or a washing machine, the more you pay the better the features, at least within a brand. It's simply not the case with Fender, where you can find a Squier that blows a Custom Shop out of the water. A good example for me is my Classic Vibe '51 Precision which plays, feels, and sounds as good, if not better, than my old Custom Shop relic 51 that retailed for almost 10 times more. There is variability in wood for sure, but far too much of all of this is smoke and mirrors; Fender would love you to think that a Custom Shop instrument is infinitely better than a Squier, but they know damn well the differences are often random, and that the purchase of a FCS instrument is often as much about bragging rights as about quality
  14. Tilt comes from a Steinberger trial long ago. I liked the idea, and Klaus made a functional solution. I didn't have time to make my own design. And Klaus could use a switch pot to include another - smile eq - option. Mixpot was already a must, not an option. Tilt is very easy to use. If I need more bass, it happens while treble lessens. You know: eq could be used as a volume, but it shouldn't (smiley could be done by cutting mids...). I haven't have the chance to meet John East personally (my bad), and I don't know all of his creations, but his attitude and workmanship are world class. His mixer based thinking is very interesting and one day when my account says yes, a preamp is in order.
  15. The colour is the only thing I find appealing!

  17. Keeley Katana Mini Clean Boost in great condition but no box. Hardly used and apparently has a couple of mini-switches inside that can be flipped each way for a few tone/drive options (see pic) and as far as I can remember I just used it as it arrived. No power adapter as it didn't come with one. Price includes postage.
  18. If your asking seriously I'd say if you can't easily afford it, don't buy it. If you're in a long-term partnership you shouldn't want to disregard or undermine the other person. Where's the joy in getting a new bass when your loved one is left sucking lemons? If you are going to get a new bass despite your other half being furious at the prospect then at least get her something too as a present . Maybe cleaning equipment, some deodorant or a weight loss DVD. Always goes down well.
  19. Yep, no way to sell a £4k bass, sorry
  20. EBS The Ultimate Billy Sheehan Signature Drive in excellent condition and still boxed. Only used a handful of times indoors as it was initially purchased for something that no longer needed a drive pedal. Just been sat about gathering dust so time for someone else to use it. Price includes postage.
  21. The Japanese Metros are some of the best basses in the world, regardless of money; glwts
  22. I watched the videos; I have no idea what the fuss is about. either saw nor heard anything at all special, quite the opposite. She appeared to be distracted, trying to do too many things at once, and none of them well. It sems to be a very odd way of playing music, but what would I know..? Not for me, sorry.
  23. I've got a 4-door saloon (the back seats fold down, so I can fit quite a lot in there), a toy car (2 seater with enough space for an overnight bag but that's about it), and tend to have scruffy cheapo (a spare if needed, for jobs to the tip, etc.).
  24. Paging @Bassassin...
