2015 Fender American Standard Precision Bass in the classic Olympic white/tort finish. In my opinion these play/sound/feel superior to the current USA professional basses. The custom shop pickups are really sweet. This one is in gigged condition with the odd nick on the body, and the paintwork has mellowed to a creamy tone (hence picture with random white thing for comparison). It weighs just 8.5lb and comes with a padded Fender gig bag. Collection from Margate or i can box it up if you'd like to arrange your own courier.

The DC bias must be coming in earlier on then and there's no DC blocking capacitor afterwards. As the active/passive switch takes the EQ part of the preamp completely out of the circuit, that would leave the buffer as the suspect section (the bottom connector with leads to the pickups and the balance pot).

From TDog: £380 to strip and refinish in nitro. Was contemplating between these 2. Sean Hurley inspired or me inspired.

Suggestions for passive DI box

Thanks for that - I had opted for one of these at lunchtime: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Palmer-Pan-01-Passive-DI-Box/2PT7?_gl=1*hj71pq*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTE2NjExNjMyMS4xNzU4NjM2OTM0*_ga_0WF1R5QW3K*czE3NTg2MzY5MzQkbzEkZzEkdDE3NTg2MzY5ODckajckbDAkaDE3MjY3Mzg1NjE. -
Why am I struggling to make bass sound good through PA?
mrtcat replied to mrtcat's topic in PA set up and use
Big thanks to everyone who offered advice. I've had time to follow the tips properly and it has completely transformed the foh bass sound. As a side note, the Darkglass Anagram has blown me away with its features. Fully parametric 6 band eq, proper high pass filters that allow you to choose the slope type and can be added wherever you need them and just a load of great core sounds. -
Very nice @Eric_Wombat!!! Its very pretty I have to admit. Do you like it with your pedals? How does the gain stage sound?

Daltrey's autobiography's very funny; on the night he flushed Moono's entire stash after walking off at the end while they were trashing the gear (off their collective gourds on uppers), Moono went for him... "I only hit him once. And I apologised when he came round." They sacked Daltry, but took him back after negotiating a settlement: "The band wouldn't do loads of drugs until after a gig, and I wouldn't knock any of them out again." 🙂 I've had a fairly easygoing run of being in and out of bands, nothing more savage than the aforementioned ghosting sort of thing, but on one occasion (and I've mentioned this before) I did have a blazing row with the other three - the details are unimportant/forgotten (late 80s this was), but they did have their old bassist on call, and sure enough he joined immediately - but the whole sturm und drang of the episode was slightly undermined when, after arguing/shouting/gesticulating around the pool table at the rehearsal rooms, I stumped off to the car with my bass and amp (an SVT at the time, and it's tricky enough to stump off carrying an SVT...my back was clearly better those days), came back in, remembered my 810 didn't have wheels, and had to ask the band for a lift getting it up the stairs... I haven't stumped off anywhere since...

Hi ABM users: I've just had a similar problem to Dagrev occur: when there is nothing plugged in to the amp it is silent with the master volume up; plug anything in and it hisses, even when the input gain is right down (and master up). I've tried different cables, basses and the problem remains; and these same cables and basses are fine into another amp. The hiss is right at the 2.6kH frequency, so it can be pretty much eliminated by taking that eq fader down to the mid point, but I need to get it fixed. The amp was serviced three months ago when it had a new preamp tube and a thorough pot clean. Any insight into what this might be? I can easily take it back to the tech who serviced it, but would welcome any thoughts first.

I'm guessing that these will replace the Pulse II basses, which appear to have ceased production....

I would like to give a big shout out for Hellzero, Tony’s help with sorting out my issue with the jack has been above and beyond, a damn fine fellow 👏👏👏

By "preamp switched out" do you mean the active/passive switch set to passive? Because I do still get a pop in that case. But no pop when I remove the battery. I'm still a bit confused about what conclusions to draw from that.... So are you suggesting that replacing the capacitor in the preamp circuit board might not solve it? What about the suggestion to add a separate capacitor in front of the output jack?

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?

The problem I have is im the new guy. The others think it's all wonderful and have no idea how basic it all sounds (drummer never counts in, the guiraitst just starts etc). If the end ends up in chaos that's just more time wasted. The song in question is Cheap Tricks' Aint that a shame. It has a lot of false endings where there are different bits of guitar during each gap. I dont think we need play them all, or at least go on and on, so I suggested we settle on a number so we can all stop. He thinks we stop when he plays a certain riff, no matter what anyone else is doing at the time. I could let it go, and won't bother bringing it back up next time, but for me his card is marked and my eyes are open to his attitude. -

Be interested to know the cost. I’d happily get my flea jazz refin’d to charcoal frost following those new RW basses. Might be cheaper to do that than buy the p bass!!
