  2. I haven't had the chance to compare to a Bassman 50, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be in the ballpark since it's also a fixed bias push-pull 6L6 pair with the same nominal power rating. We have a drummer with reasonable dynamics who's not a shed-builder, and our guitarist usually uses a Blues Junior, and in that context it does fine. Running the midrange control most of the way up helps things to be audible too, an option you don't have on a Fender tone stack. I can hear that it's starting to grit up and squash a little on louder notes when I get to around 2pm on the master volume, though that was at a gig where I was running into a single 12" without PA support and the guitarist had a larger combo than usual. I had it running into a venue's house Orange 8x10 on Friday, and it felt plenty loud that way!
  3. Half life. Blur
  4. I think it’s an effect that, unless you’re doing solo ambient soundscapes, you have to use in a subtle way. And much like a good overdrive, you need to ‘tune’ it, tonally speaking, to your bass a bit more than other effects. It’s very easy to kill your tone in a mix, but get it right and it can be an incredible enhancer. I primarily use it in synth bass style tones (though I admittedly use short rhythmic delays more now), or on fretless. But a good sounding subtle reverb absolutely has its place!
  5. I got one too! I am still figuring it out, but particularly enjoy the weird organ sound It can make!
  6. I always thought a Hard No to Reverb on Bass, but the FTK Audio Fretless Pedal I purchased recently has it and , yeah maybe, at certain times, its a nice thing
  7. Nuclear Device….Stranglers
  8. Considering keeping this as another option for gigging now. It is taking up extra space in my study since I got my main rig back, but I have kind of got used to that since putting up the ad.
  9. Dropped the price to £375..
  10. Very nice, that was the most appealing lot in the GH auction. Excellent purchase.
  11. Someone please buy this bass. You’re getting a hell of a lot for not much money.
  12. Fish On - Primus
  13. Ok this was for a project but I no longer need it. This is a brand new Allparts Jazz neck, never installed of used. Since purchasing I have added a Fender Logo supplied by Rothko & Frost and a bone nut. The frets have been dressed, fretboard oiled and it's in beautiful condition. David Wilson then completely finished the neck in lacquer with a lovely tint on the face, his work is outstanding. In total this neck owes me about £600 ish so offering it out at £500 including UK delivery. Open to offers and potential trades HX Stomp, Radial JDI, Bassrig… let me know

  14. Gentleman's Relish, surely.........
  15. It's an interesting subject, I've answered based on my past experience. One thing I'd mention is that the current questions make it hard to explain a position like mine, where I had problems with pain in the past but they've largely cleared up now.
  16. Mmmmm. Blond Leb.
  17. I'm tempted to start a rival band called Gentleman Jam, but I would get into trouble.
  18. I will definitely give it a proper go when I get home, thank you for the suggestion.
  19. Up for sale, my lovely Larrivee OM-2. It’s in fabulous condition, barely a mark on it. Includes original hard case and certificate. The action is very comfortable, 2mm at the 12th fret on the low E, however the saddle is very low and there is little, if any room left for adjustment. This is reflected in the price. I paid £900 from a dealer, about 2 years ago and it’s in the same condition as it was when I bought it. I’m asking £800. Collection only, East Lancs/Yorks border.
  20. I've swept everywhere, it's gorne. Thankfully no magnetic powder or swarf around. Good tip for cleaning up though.
  21. Hi Phil, PM sent. Mike
