  1. Past hour
  2. I was frustrated by this on my first attempt. There were 5 of us that wanted to go on the Thursday. When I logged in, there were 5 left in one row in a reasonable position and I stuck them all in my cart thereby selling out the row. It wouldn’t let me do it for the same reason. Well, the warning was the same, but it didn’t matter how I edited my basket, it wouldn't let me buy them. I ended having to come out and go back in again to do it another way 🤷‍♂️
  3. I love Rush, especially the first decade of stuff. Saw them way back when in Leeds (Permanent Waves tour?) but haven't ventured to repeat. I'm afraid I hate arena gigs these days, they leave me cold and uninvolved so I doubt I'll make an exception this time around.
  4. Had one of those about 10 years ago - thought I was having a bloody stroke.....
  5. Yeah I found a great seat but also had to buy two which went up to £850 ! (Before admin & insurance) I managed to find a single seat (albeit further away) but still the most I’ve ever paid for a gig lol Manchester AO
  6. It is very cool. Clouds is an immense piece of kit, and jamming the whole thing into a pedal is frankly bonkers. It’s easy to get lost… but it sounds absolutely lush. I withdrew it as there are some granular vibes in here I just couldn’t get from other pedals, but I really need to slim the herd a bit!
  7. Mint condition, only had home use. Looking to upgrade to the XS-100. Utterly amazing pitch shifter! Asking for NOW £165 posted in the UK.
  8. These are fantastic instruments, but I've never seen one that's light enough for my back, so I'll just have to look at the pictures. If Chris May brought out a Super Light series I'd have several in a heart beat.
  9. But I haven't. First new notification since I thought I'd sorted it and the pleading box is back. This time I've clicked the "x" in the top corner. Hopefully that will work...
  10. On the one hand, I like that analogue effects pedals are tough, do a specific job, hold their value second hand - buy a second hand Phase 90 today and you could reasonably expect to use it for 10 years and then still be able to sell it for similar price. That is so much better than the 'pay monthly to never actually own it' thing of some digital stuff, and the fact that most of the hardware needed (Laptops/iPads etc) have about 5 years of udtates before they start being a bit useless and worthless. But on the other hand, something like 'loopy pro' just via an iPhone or iPad seems light years ahead of almost any looper pedal: Payday is approaching, as is my next gig, and I only have a tuner pedal at the moment (and Amp with compressor, drive, EQ). So I've got the choice of: Stick: Keep what I've got (but where's the fun in that?!) Go backwards: Re-treading the multi-fx/ individual pedals route (potentially costing £ hundreds, but is the stuff specifically designed for this task and has resale value) Look to the future! Use my iPad and audio interface (Volt 2), and use virtual pedalboard apps like Tonex ,BiasFX2, (and stuff like Loopy Pro). And a wireless midi footswitch like the Boss FS-1 WL. So as I already have the iPad and interface in the short-term at least that costs me about £130 for the FS-1 and apps. I am keen on this option mostly out of curiosity and short-term cost saving and portability, my main hesitation is a practical one of wanting a stompable mute/tuner where I can stomp and then view the tuning - ideally without keeping my tuner pedal wired up as that is the start of just might as well having a small pedalboard. I'm sure I can set the Boss FS-1 to have a tuner/mute command to the iPad app but the practical issue is where do I put the iPad to be able to see this? Not a big deal as I suppose it can sit on top of the amp, but that feels a bit precarious (probably a job for the velcro tape). The audio interface has a 'direct' button, so if the iPad plays up I can just instantly bypass it and go direct from the inteface to amp so the risks of messing up live are hopefully quite manageable.
  11. I'll be there with BassDirect, happy to have a chat with anyone that says hi
  12. Ive always found at Glastonbury its great when there's an enormous act on the main stage, it makes it easy to get to the front at any of the other stages. Ive never enjoyed performances on the pyramid stage, its too big there and even if you get to the front you're still a long way from the stage and sound isn't great at the front

  14. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred. Here comes the science bit… Type: 2-way closed, shelf speaker Colour: Ash black veneer Dimensions: 490 x 236 x 303 mm (H x W x D) Weight: 7.8 kg Recommended amplifier power: 30-150 W Frequency response: 70 - 20,000 Hz (±2 dB) Crossover: 2500 Impedance: 4 Ohm
  15. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!

  17. Make sure you have good monitoring if you use the Labella tapes as they get buried in a mix very easily, Rotosound are better in this regard though they are noticeably stiffer feeling.
  18. DR Sunbeam Nickel plated steel roundwound strings, 45-105, for 4 string electric bass. Bought new, cut for Precision, played for no more than half an hour. Nice well balanced tone and relatively smooth to the touch for rounds. Round core. Selling as I prefer flats these days. They are like new with all original packaging. £20 posted to UK address
  19. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the fingerboard turned out to be ebony. I think most of them were on the 320/325 series. The body is probably Sen Ash so the bass should be fairly light.
  20. Haha - now you might not think it misleading if your bandmates wrote their particular parts, but how about Elvis - didn't write any of his own stuff (co-authored a few)? Tbf he never claimed otherwise = full disclosure? And apparently audiences weren't too fussed?! (See earlier comment about performer / audience interaction surviving AI).
  21. Today
  22. As you get older recall becomes as issue, whereas stuff you played 40 years is still burnt into you. For me, at the start of anything new, I always went off rough tabs during rehearsals, very much a case of walking before you run. Tabs then go away after a couple of weeks and you just fumble through the next couple, then it becomes muscle memory. There's no tricks or tips here, it's just how and what it is.
  23. Great link/ thank's
  24. At Glastonbury a few years ago, Beyoncé was on the main stage and it was absolutely rammed on the field, me, I wandered off to see the rather wonderful Suzanne Vega on the Acoustic stage, stood only feet away from someone who’s music I have adored since the first album. Happy days.
  25. I was playing the garden stage at the Isle of Wight festival in 2011 while the Manic Street Preachers were on the big top stage. And it was peeing down at the time.
  26. Yes, yes and yes!! I've been lucky enough to work with a wide range of students for many, many years - those at school, retirees, SEND, those with greater complex and specialised needs and even groups of sufferers of dementia. I slammed like on your post! I'm also a fan of that lil quote by that chap who was quite good with science: “If you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself.”
