  1. Past hour
  2. Oh possibly so! Bax lists the current F10 T £1350 so yeah your guess is probs more accurate!
  3. I reckon the F10 DX/DC will be more around £1600+. The current F10 is £1500 already.
  4. And here. A Planar 2 is a great inexpensive TT, but adding a cartridge (the Rega ND3 is ideal) will take it quite a bit over your £500 budget. Pro-Jects are decent. For your budget, I'd steer clear of real vintage items. Any suspended sub-chassis designs, such as Linn, that you can get for £500 are almost certainly going to need you to spend money to bring them up to snuff. However, something like a used but fairly recent Planar 2 or 3 (or Pro-Ject equivalent) would fit the bill and come in around budget. At that level, people upgrade quite quickly, so you can pick things up that aren't too old or heavily used. I'm a Rega fan because they're made in England, spares/parts are readily available and they sound excellent for the price. They're also a nice to deal with smaller independent company and not part of a faceless corporation, which is important to me. Re siting a TT, unless your floors are flimsy and you jump around whilst listening to music, you'll be fine and won't need trick isolation devices. Purpose built hi-fi racks and shelving from the likes of Atacama are ridiculously over-priced. High mass shelves are often counter-productive, because they store low frequency resonance. A good inexpensive hack is to buy a laminated bamboo cutting board (they're light, rigid and non-resonant) of suitable size and add adjustable spikes at each corner so it can be levelled. Put it on top of your sideboard or wherever and stand the TT on it. I've done that with my Planar 6 and it works very well. I can tap the rack it sits on firmly whilst a record is playing and no sound comes through my speakers.
  5. PM'd about the Bass Clone
  6. 4 button midi controller.
  7. cheers Mark , it’s lovely just needs playing
  8. I've just ordered a Nordstrand 2 band preamp replacement for my VM5. Everything else about the bass is phenomenal but my Fender absolutely bosses it tonally. The Sandberg wins hands down on playability, just want it in the same league sound wise. Of course YMMV.
  9. Eight weeks after a hip op. You'll be a lot more mobile than you expect, the hip will be pain free and completely mobile, but you'll still be in some pain from the surgery healing and the nerves reconnecting. Probably OK for driving, but a whole day of standing talking rubbish may be a bit much. See how it goes - if you can get someone to give you a lift it would be great to see you, but look after yourself first. (My mother had hers done last June and stayed with us for a few weeks afterwards. Medically she could have gone home earlier but was enjoying the company too much )
  10. Praying For Rain - Don Henley
  11. Yep wooden ramp added as an accessory for both F10 DX/DC 😊 Playing punk rock I've no business getting one of those F10 but still tempting. I somehow convinced myself I can rock a black headless M6 anyway 😂 The F10 could always be my soul 5 string "all else" genres bass right.... Right...? 😂 Ander.
  12. It also helps to remember that these amps are not new - BH250 was released in 2012. TC Electronic didn't release the Plethora range of pedals (a fully featured multi Toneprint loader) until 2020.
  13. Some great swinging bass. The complete Dwayne Dolphin performance of the tune 'Daydream' from the 1997 John Hicks album. 'Something To Live For: the Billy Strayhorn Songbook'. Easy to read but hard because of the tempo. Great fun though. I always have a big smile on my face when I listen to this performance. It's usually played as a ballad but works incredibly well at this tempo. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/daydream-john-hicks/
  14. These are gorgeous and the good news is the ramp seems to be removable.
  15. No, you can't edit the amp toneprints, you can only use what presets you've been given. Same on phone app and computer. I think it's because it's a "general purpose" toneprint implementation, rather than the specific pedal or whatever which has the deeper settings available.
  16. Mary's Prayer - Danny Wilson
  17. Marys boy child - Boney M
  18. Do you think its because they sounded different from your P basses. Did they say if they preferred the Berg tone 😂 As much as i love the playability of my Bergs i still lean more towards the warmth and depth of a Fenders tone. At the moment my Godin PJ with Seymour Duncan designed pick ups is keeping me happy but i just know i'll return to my Bergs again after a few gigs. Dave
  19. That F10 Dc is an awesome looking bass. Fantastic spec except for the dealbreaker that it is 35” scale length! What a shame. Good to hear they’re tackling weight as well as that’s the only downside to my V5.
  20. A review of this amp can be seen here, and Vox's product page is worth a look. As the reviewer mentions, this amp is both small and light (< 5kg) and also loud; I've used it for several jams and also a gig (all with a drummer and various saxes etc.) and it has been fine. I never much liked the tone (a bit too rock) or used the effects, so I've replaced it with the recently-discontinued jazz version whilst I still can. I've not included postage in the price as I don't know how much it will be, but in the event of anyone being interested we can discuss options. The box is still present and I'll put in the unused new power supply from the replacement amp (it's identical). There are a couple of small marks on the bottom of the grill surround (pictured) but otherwise it's in good condition and all working.
  21. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to do this now - my hip replacement has been put back and is now April 23rd, so I don't know how mobile I'll be by 20th June.
  22. As usual Sire just slipped out the new basses ahead of NAMM! For 2026 we highlight * P7/V7/V7 vintage. "New Gen" takes over Gen 2 in what seems satin finish? I can't see much gloss there. New neck profile, colours and electronics. Consistency in weight, chambered bodies * Headless/headed top rsnge - F10 DX and X10 DX. How did Fodera not sure I do not know, but I love it. I'm assuming these will come at £1200 ISH £1500+ (thanks @MichaelDean)? Hard case and wooden covers and wooden ramp as accessory. * Other colour updates and edits, to note the Dingwall Nolly swirly finishes... https://www.sire-usa.com/pages/2026-marcus-miller-new-models What do you think? Ander.
