Hi, On an ordering page, I'm seeing a neck and a bridge model for the Big Split, however, with being an internally hum cancelling pickup, I don't understand why there would be more than one available, unless it's coil wind, volume etc.... Does anyone know. Intended installation would be Bridge, Mid, and Neck, all up against eachother, with Dingwall type wiring. I.e. Bridge, Bridge + Neck in Parallel (Jazz), Bridge plus middle in Parallel (MM), and Neck in series (Psuedo P Bass) and Bridge (Parallel) + Neck (series) for PJ tones.

Same here (year and model), even though I don't play 4s any more except the odd open mic night when I take it for a run out. -
Can't believe this hasn't been snapped up yet!! These are excellent basses. I've had one and also the much more expensive Music Man version. To be honest there wasn't that much difference in terms of playability and the sounds were slightly different but IMHO equally good. In fact, there are some Talkbass members who prefer the 'voice' of the SBMM. AND I think the black/tort combo really looks the business. Add to that the lightweight tuners to counterbalance the very light body weight of this one (mine was heavier)... If I had the spare cash right now I'd be buying this. GLWTS. -

Very much considering selling my QC, if I can get the right price. I use a patch with a compressor, drive, delay and a phaser for most live stuff I do and then a patch that I use fro practice. It does seem crazy to me that I'm using so little of its potential. It does sound amazing though but I watched the IMA video and some of the things he mentioned were things I felt about the QC.

Bought this a few weeks ago for a gig I had at new year as a last minute replacement for my fuzz that died. Since got my usual fuzz repaired so this isn’t needed. Pretty much brand new except Velcro on the back. Price includes shipping in the UK, cheers!-

Thats exactly the point I was trying to illustrate Lawrie, I was surprised that a few people thought it was genuine and how vigilant a buyer would need to be...When I was initially offered this all the facts and detailed pics of the instrument were shown to me and full disclosure of it being a replica, I didnt buy it of course as I was after a genuine Jazz which I eventually got, my concern would be when it is bought by a buyer who could then try to pass it off as a genuine Vintage Bass down the line. Luckily we have a lot of Vintage experts on this forum who can be relied upon for advice and allay any concerns when purchasing a Vintage instrument

No. Yes. I watch educational videos with good intentions, but find myself distracted by those same videos. Get a teacher, if you can - a good teacher is better than a video, I would say.
