  1. Past hour
  2. Yes indeed... my mistake! Thank you, sir!
  3. Cool beans, thanks Silvia.
  4. There's a sunburst one on Ebay with no bag for £1200! Shows how cheap i am.
  5. Frank, I've hidden your duplicate and triplicate post. Thanks for coming over, good to see you even for just a short time. Enjoy the bass!
  6. Double Seal. It gets no better.
  7. He's such a gent he won it three times... *ahem*
  8. The only Cort built bass I've had on which the active treble control doubles as a passive tone is the Ibanez EHB with its Vari-Mid preamp. The GB Modern has the Markbass MB with a separate passive tone but I don't think other Corts offer that, even the ones using that preamp.
  9. I had a very warm and unpleasant drive over to Glorious Sexy Harrow to buy a Fender Precision Thinline. Unfortunately I was in a rush so I barely had time to wave 👋 at @Silvia Bluejay let alone behold @Happy Jack's enticing array of instruments (Matron!) before I had to take a very warm and unpleasant drive home. So, apologies Jack for rushing off, lovely to see you again and thanks for a flawless transaction. Obviously Jack walks away with the Frank Blank Seal of Approval...
  10. Just to be clear the price I am asking is £3000. That being said I am sure anyone who might have an interest in a Bass of this quality and condition would drop me a message to negotiate.
  11. Look ok to me but I can understand wanting to get lower action. When it say the action is rubbish, what is stopping it from going lower? Is it fret buzz or are the saddles as low as they will go?
  12. Hmm, yes. I do take slight umbrage at the comment about his patches being “night and day” compared to the stock ones, but I’m not trying to make money off my patches, I’ve shared them for free so don’t have to try and persuade people to buy “better” stuff. In fact, I do wonder if a few might just be mine anyway or slightly tweaked versions.
  13. Isn't there a question of consent in there somewhere..?
  14. I think they got up indeed. Looking at pictures of fretless Ps some nasty people posted here, I finally bought a Tony Franklin one.
  15. Couldn't the employees make a bid for it..? If it's making a profit, there's surely a bank that could help with funding loans or such. Not an option..?
  16. The music trade is taking a serious kicking at the moment. Sad times. There were so many independents and brands when my journey began.
  17. If he tried pulling a couple of girls over the barrier and snogging them nowadays imagine the fuss!!! That Spanish football official who kissed the lady captain a couple of years back was pretty much beheaded for it. I bet there's a few lawyers trying to find out where they are now 😂
  18. TLDR - Mr. Hornby-Skewes has passed away and the estate is now closing the company which is in good financial health. I mean, fair enough. Will be a shame to have one less choice, and they were well supported by smaller independent guitar shops. The domination of Squier/Fender shall continue evermore.
  19. I doubt Cort put a passive tone circuit on those.
  20. This is certainly an unusual-looking instrument: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116684725531 I wonder if the lack of frets near the top was simply because it's too hard to reach that part of the neck. The same chap has a Roland Cube of the sort jazz guitarists like, but this one is filthy: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116691148146
  21. Here's some videos I think I'm there or there abouts
  22. And now a press release via here: https://guitar.com/news/gear-news/john-hornby-skewes-jhs-shutting-down/
  23. Disturbingly, we seem to be nearing a consensus.
