Does look likely to be toasty inside at that rate. Damn. -
The losing bottom end with raising cab thing is an impossibly difficult meme to kill because....guitarists. G man gets blasted by treble from his amp and can't hear any bass. That's his actual tone that everyone in front of it hears. Same goes for bassists but as logical thinkers we are easier to convince.

I’ve ordered the Rose Gold one, but it’s not due in until January. I had ordered a Strandberg Boden from Andertons a couple of weeks ago when they had them on offer, but it turned out to be ex display which was damaged so I had to cancel the order. The Hils is significantly cheaper, but still looks pretty cool.

Most cheap dB meters only have 'A' weighting. They don't measure bass. You need 'C' or 'Z' weighting. True, if it's lifted by a meter or more. Less than that and there's no loss of bottom end. If you don't tilt or lift it the highly directional mids critical for the perception of loudness are passing by your knees, which can't hear them, rather than by your ears, which can.

On board active electrics...going full circle.
tauzero replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
One passive bass, one which I bought passive but I subsequently activated, 30ish active. The Megatar is also passive. World Battery Change Day promises to be quite expensive. Added to that, all my guitars are active except one - the electrics are Variaxes and a Jamstik, the acoustics are electroacoustics except for one. -

Fair Deal Music is only a mile or two from there too. And if he does M6/M42/M40, he can pop in to Bass Direct and Bass Bros. -

I am kind of interested in this now, its probably more than I wanted to spend on a pedal but I do have a specific issue at the moment - I have joined a metal group and where the main group can all be played with a standard tuned 5 string, quite a few of the metal ones require a variety of drop tunes, so I have to use more than one bass (because it is a pain constantly tuning your E on a 5 string!). However, then there are a few songs that are other wierd tunings like drop B. Most you can just rework out for a 5 string, but some would be easier of I could use a drop D b string tuned down to B - so if you dropped a low D down 3 semitones to a B, does it sound reasonably natural, or at least workable? I am currently just using my Boss ME90B but the drop tuning on that is pretty poor. Sorry, I had missed that, I certainly can if the OP doesn't want to / cant.

Trace Elliot - Rescue & Restore (and bargain finds)
Hypo199 replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
I am, of course, working under the assumption that the vendor has tested the equipment 'as is' and finds it sufficiently free of faults to release it for sale. Obvs different vendors have different standards.....some actually turn the knobs, plug in an instrument and play, others just sit there looking for a fault for the sake of it. -

Congratulations on an interesting TE amplifier system. One thing confused me from the photos; why aren't the left and right line out patches connected to the left and right line in sockets of the RA300? I really hope they aren't connected to speaker outputs! -

I bagged it....had to take a punt on this as I've coveted TE gear since I was a kid in a band who longed after the decent stuff, but had to make do and mend with whatever we could find in house clearance sales. -

I wonder, why do you all feel compelled to judge these musicians on their facial expressions, posture, apparel, etc.?your comments say more about you than it does about them. Can’t it be enough for them to just make music that is interesting , or beautiful, or challenging , or provocative . And if it doesn’t check one of those boxes for you, then it just doesn’t . Reminds me of a relative of mine who , no matter what they are eating, has to find it “fantastic” otherwise it sucks. Can’t it just be food?

Tested them all, they’re all very much in the realm of tone sweeteners but for me it’s really elevated the Anagram to where I can’t fault it tonally or claim to be missing anything. The items in the pack Original no knob Sansamp Bass DI Juan Alderetes SVT DI Zerofive Audio Low Rider JHS Punchline Mojohand Cream Pie SGFX Beta Mk1 (and in combination with the Cream Pie) Cranborne Audio Camden EC1 (3 settings) My preferred settings on the Subdecay Noise Theory (Which hasn’t quite nailed the pedal but it’s better than the fuzz I had dialed in on the anagram) Essentially all my favourite pedals and preamps and I’ve now just got them as an option in the Anagram.

Flipping basses for profit – fair game or not cool?

The practice might prevent individuals with a "lesser" income from nabbing a bargain is the only thing I would say along with it can in certain instances over-inflate market-value. But yes we know it's not illegal.
