  2. Aren't US prices VAT excluded? Local taxes + VAT = a lot more.
  3. Wow. I only started playing a few years ago, but I'd never heard of one of these little things, let alone seen one. Is it just me and my ignorance or are these rarer than rocking horse Thames Water? GLWTS anyway.
  4. Those are the sort of dilemmas that keep me awake at night - or would, if I could afford either! GLWTS
  5. Trades - X Touch Universal, maybe Alto TS215. Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  6. Very high quality Hall reverb with that lovely infinite reverb effect. Boxed and complete with sticker, guide, unused stick on rubber feet. I’ve tested it and then put it away as it doesn’t have a battery option and I no longer use a powered pedalboard. Like new. Price includes UK postage.

  7. Electro-Harmonix Clone Theory Vintage Chorus Pedal NYC Made 70’s/80’s This is the one made famous in the 80’s by musicians including Peter Hook, John McGeoch and again later by Kirk Cobain. You can get sweeping chorus, subtle vibrato, to mad flange and synth like sounds from this unit. It’s a hard wired mains unit and the casing has plenty of dings and touch ups to the paint. It works perfectly and sounds great. These are quite rare now. I’ve owned two and this is the one that is all original. It’s an old pedal and like most vintage EH gear a bit noisy but it’s not a particular issue for live gigs.

  8. TC Electronic Spectradrive? Love the comp, never tried the drive
  9. Mannish boy - Muddy Waters
  10. Might be interested in an Ibanez SR605 or K5 or Warwick 5 string in p/x
  11. Any recommendations for Compressor with drive channel - doesn’t have to be DI - or 2 cheaper compression and a drive pedal.
  12. Welcome Nathan.
  13. I would love to help out, my stuff is admittedly a little niche, but if it would work out for them then I would love to get it to people that need it.
  14. Hi Nathan, great to have you on board 😊
  15. If the same as my 'Stang they're 6mm push fit, I think. I don't necessarily mind using different knobs of the same style, or adding a third. I have some the same type which fit with a set screw which might work depending on the pots required. I'm just wondering were a third one would go - I'd like to keep the front mounted jack, and I'm not sure where else would fit with the existing routing, or where there might be space. Maybe a third in line with the others before the neck pickup, though it would be quite close - not a problem for my playing style but can't tell if there'd be room until I have the bits in hand.... For everyone else, I'm toying with the idea of a bland, tone, and varitone control with two different caps which would be quite tasty on a fretless. I think @devinebass has a similar arrangement on his Lull Jazz, using a push/pull to switch between the two, which is a good idea.
  16. Did I ever answer your email? I admittedly go through spurts where I either let things sit in the inbox for a couple days or immediately clear everything out, and there isn't much space in between for "normal communication."
  17. Welcome sushi
  18. Today
  19. Hey everyone, Nathan here from Sushi Box FX. I'm elsewhere in the internet world already, it seems like I should probably be here as well. I've been playing bass for about 20 years now, and I have a modest collection of nice things: Ibanez SR900FM Ibanez SRH500 Fender/Warmoth Partscaster PJ (long story on that one) Ibanez Mikro bass Ampeg SVT Classic Genz-Benz Streamliner 900 Gallien Kruger Backline 600 Eden 610 cab Peavey 210 cab We don't need to get into what pedals I use. Not yet anyway.
  20. I got it at GAK March 2024 as an early birthday present - I sorted it out through one of the staff there Ryan who I had a few email conversations with about it. My local luthier set it up for me with the new strings and the old ones are included. I assume it was made in late 23 or very early 24 as it’s a newer model and relatively recent addition to the Hofner range. I’ve enclosed pictures of the booklet which has the matching serial number to the inside label - you can even see the name of the craftsman handwritten on the label. Hofner really know how to make something special. I’m sure Hofner would be able to find the exact date for you if needed. If you want pictures of the inside label and serial number and are seriously interested please PM me.
  21. Not sure I've come across any replacement MM pickups that use neodymium magnets - they're all ceramic or alnico, and hence don't nail the Bongo sound. If anyone knows better, please let me know - might sway my decision to get one. Noll do a 4-band EQ that Klaus can configure with the Bongo frequency centres (for reference, they're bass at 40Hz, low mids at 400Hz, high mids at 2.5KHz and treble at 6.3KHz, all at +-15dB).
  22. Rough Boy - ZZ Top
  23. What fitting/size are the original knobs?
  24. Nancy Boy = Placebo An under appreciated band with some great bass lines
  25. I’m talking to Steve at Chapel Guitars http://www.chapelguitars.com (found via the recommended luthiers thread here). He’s made the potentially fatal error of accepting the challenge!
  26. Result - I went for the Gotoh GB350s, and even the hole for the screw lines up exactly.
