  2. Here's a rough comparison clip. GS then BR, first alone then through the B15 IR of the Cabzone. Apologies for any artefacts in the recording; I think my computer is on the blink. B15 clips.mp3

  4. Yet many of those plans are pretty poor when compared with established quality commercial designs. That’s been my experience overall. Economies of scale regarding quality commercial conditions makes it very difficult to build for less cost, especially if considering the used market.
  5. £399 before I try the 'Bay.
  6. Indeed it does, if you want it to look nice.
  7. Walnut every time. I cannot abide Antigua as a finish. I guess it represented a bass that was ridiculously heavy when it first appeared.
  8. Immaculate, as new, never gigged with all original packaging. Sublime British fuzz pedal with very cool Octaver built in. The Fur Coat is a bold, vintage-style fuzz pedal inspired by the great sustain and saturation of early-70s Foxx Tone Machine. Thick, aggressive, and full of character, it nails the woolly textures of classic fuzz while offering modern flexibility. A switchable octave-up adds a ripping edge to solos, while the active EQ helps you cut through or scoop out mids. Whether you want spitting chaos or smooth sustain, the Fur Coat delivers. It runs on standard 9 V power but sips current, making it perfect for modern pedalboards. Put it first in your chain and prepare for full-bodied, retro fuzz furry fury with a twist. 11. Ive got so many flats in a box as that’s all I use, I’ve been using labella LTF’s for years, and recently got some labella Olinto, but I’d really like to try these Pino ones, how do they sound and feel

  14. There’s a bunch of Harley Bentons in different designs for your budget. The Mustang alikes are good, especially since the switch upgrade. The J pickup is not as powerful as the P (not unusual in budget basses of any make), but the whole thing makes for a good upgrade chassis (an EMG GZR set would be perfect). https://www.thomann.co.uk/short_scale_basses.html?manufacturer[]=Harley Benton&gk=GIEBSC&sp=solr_b&cme=true&filter=true

  16. Let us know what you think. I was tempted but they sounded really bright from the vids I watched. I really like the Super Polished so the fact these were more grippy put me off - be interested to know what they feel like too.
  17. Fret sensing seems to be the preferred method at the moment. Alternatively have a look at the Roland V-Bass system which is based around modelling to process the audio output of the individual strings.
  18. I used them quite a bit in the days when Alan at ACG was stocking them. They're nothing like Elixirs so if you are after something similar you may be disappointed. Since they have become less easy to find in the UK I've stopped using them and now favour Warwick Black Label for my basses that would have had SIT string before.
  19. Hmmm - just thinking if you did a clear pickguard and then printed on the back of it, it wouldn't need to be lacquered. Endless possibilities ! Is it something you would be happy to do for your BC friends and if so what would the costs be roughly ? ( I assume each job could be different )
  20. 6 x Music Man 2EQ LM4250CN Preamp to assemble, exactly the same as the Boscoe 2EQ preamp. 4 of them will come with a thick MM plate. They will be delivered with enough length of coloured wires (not the whole box) and 3M double sided foam. Each preamp has a real LM4250CN opamp, tantalum capacitors, Radio knobs and real MM output jack. The price for everything pictured in the first photo. NO TRADES! PRICE NON-NEGOTIABLE! Asking price, fully insured delivery with tracking number, to your home, for the following European countries (for other countries, please contact us): Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France (excluding French overseas territories), Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom: €350 (£310 GBP is an approximation and I will only accept payment in Euros)! Shipping to the UK is of course possible and included in my asking price, but with additional customs charges (VAT + other taxes + courier costs), as the UK is now outside the EU, just ask. Due to the fact that I don't play bass anymore, I'm selling all the stuff I'm not using like this one. I've also considerably lowered the price for a quick sale as, new, it would cost you 30% more than my asking price… Don't hesitate to ask for more details, but, please, before asking read my ad first as the answer is certainly already in it! 21. Sure is a lovely looking bass. I hope you find a buyer. My first alembic was a SC signature and in recent years I got a new loom from alembic to convert it to anniversary electronics. Truly great basses.

  23. Raising cash so up for sale is IMHO one of the finest tracking octavers available for bass (and i cant bring muself to sell my OC2) It has two distinct octave voices a Growl which replicates the toothy synth tone of an OC2 and a Girth which is smooth and deep like an EBS octabass/octamizer. You can get subtle variations from mixing the two. It also has a switchable mid boost/cut on the clean tone which can be adjusted internally, very handy. Usual small MXR enclosure with fantastic build quality. Its in great condition and a beautiful deep blue sparkle. No box, but will be well packed. This does Not have the noise issues associayed with the early versions) (Note- the A sticker will be removed and cleaned, ive a two channel setup and kept mixing them up 🤣) £80 incl UK only delivery
  24. Fantastic Chorus/Flanger so effectively two pedals in one. Fully Analog utilising bucket brigade technology for warm vintage Chorus tones. Also feature a 2 band EQ so you can go from warm lush to shimmering modern sounds. It also has a switchable crossover so the effect can be applied only to the high frequencies (like the old Boss Bass chorus) leaving the bottom end nice and clean (a subtle but lovely sound) or a full range chorus sound for extra thickness. A button activates the Flanger mode which is my favourite, totally gives you that wide spacey Anthony Jackson tone. Definately a favourite pedal, but I do use Phaser a lot more. It's also a very cool Aqua colour, what's not to love. Its in reasonable condition, with a few chips in the finish, Im not sure if i have the original box,but will be very well packed. £95 incl Uk only delivery

  25. One thing to consider is the amount of full power needed. Because of the signal bassists create, there's very seldom any situation where 100 % is needed for more than milliseconds. OK, if your amp is a small 30W unit, it will be fried in a loud band. Anything beyond 300 W is most likely enough (especially with a sensitive cab).
  26. Im about to move into a new flat and basically need everything 🤣 so a few odds and ends will find their way up for sale. This is a fantastic pedal, a licensed version of the vaunted Bugbrand bugcrusher which is very expensive. Its a sample rate reducer with clean blend and one of the most musical ive ever tried. It took me ages to find one used, but i lterally use it on two tunes with a band that rarely gigs, so up it goes. Its in fantastic condition with a lovely sparkly silver finish, its got velcro on the bottom, no box unfortunately. £95 incl UK only delivery
