  1. Past hour
  2. I'm sure that sounded amazing through the Watkins Dominators and other miserably small amps of the era! A design introduced too early?
  3. We were back at The Queens Arms in Brixham on Saturday night. I managed to bag a parking space right outside, which is unheard of. Another good night with an appreciative landlord and crowd. During the break a guy came up to ask me about my rig as he didn't recognise my Ashdown RM 500 evo ii and BF 210 cab, so we had a chat about them. He was actually a guitarist and did recognise my stingray, and was very complimentary on my sound and the balance with our guitarist. 11pm finish luckily, so no too late arriving home.
  4. I get that occasionally too. I just have to trust my eyes and proprioceptors.
  5. Ring My Bull - Anita Ward
  6. Ooooh the okey-kokey...
  7. For sale is my Tech21 VT Bass Deluxe. 6 programmable presets (either 6 for one bass or plug 2 different basses and have 3 for each). It’s a preamp, amp/cab sim, fx loop, dirt pedal & AB Switcher and DI all in one and can make several pedals redundant. It runs on a standard 9v pedalboard power supply or a 9v square battery which I thought was pretty impressive for such a powerful unit - great if you’re always running out of inputs on your power supply like I am You get really excellent sounds from it, Ampeg SVT to B15 through to RATM and plenty more - if you’re looking at this you probably know all about the pedal already and don’t need me to explain it to you Works perfectly, I’ve put some duo-lock on the bottom since these photos were taken. I paid £199 for this inc postage on eBay the other week but I’ve decided to stick with my smaller footprint VT Bass v1 as I don’t actually need the DI function or FX loop Comes with insert card that has the Tech21 presets on, will be sent well packaged and wrapped in bubble wrap/boxed etc £170 inc postage - May accept trades or PX’s (or even PX + cash to you for something I really want) Preamps, Compressors, Lo-gain dirt maybe, but you’re welcome to try me - I’m fairly easily tempted 😁
  8. I remember The Bottom Line, but more because Steve Manes also ran a Triumph email list which I was on. I've learnt a lot about the existence of many makes of bass which I never knew existed, all of which are very expensive and several of which I now own. It appears that the level of one's knowledge is in inverse proportion to the contents of one's bank account.
  9. I have a 300w version of this head enclosed in the tolex covered wooden case if anyone is interested.I havenn't used it for ages as i went to tc electronic digital gear. Not sure as to the value though i have heard glowing reports about them.Would take any reasonable offer based in Scottish borders.Sorry about hijacking the O.P. thread
  10. It is what it is, a PB with I believe a Squier body in original Red Sparkle finish, I guess Squier pickup and a Fender HiMass Bridge. The neck is unmarked except for the matching head stock and Fender decal. In great condition and plays well. £95. Shipping UK £15.
  11. Hi there, Thank you so much for detailing the Midas construction. It's a part of our brother that lives on... From a cardboard drawing to this! 💚 The bass community is truly a humble and generous one 🤟
  12. Has anybody done a Payson bridge conversion on a Chinese Dingwall bass? These bridges are standard fitment on the Canadian build basses but on the Chinese basses the individual saddles tend to be sharp and obtrusive for some playing styles. Is it a straight swap? Is there any drilling required at all and was it worth the money? (they ain't cheap!)
  13. Moo-ve It - Cliff

  17. I honestly don’t recall, it was sold on here. Hardly used, as you say they’re loud! I’d had all the ‘boutique’ 2x12s before and this was the one that I liked most. Just sat so well with a band and not a total chore to move! GLWTS!
  18. Zak says: "I was fired two weeks after reinstatement and asked to make a statement saying I had quit the who to pursue my other musical endevours this would be a lie. I love the who and would never had quit. So I didn’t make the statement ….quitting the who would also have let down the countless amazing people who stood up for me (thank you all a million times over and more) thru the weeks of mayhem of me going ‘in an out an in an out an in an out like a bleedin squeezebox x To clarify ‘other projects’ yes I do have other projects and always have. The Who have been sporadic or minimalist in touring most years apart from a two extensive tours in 2000 and 2006/7 To be precise while I was in the who 1996-1999 I had other projects with Johnny Marr, Lightning Seeds and Mike Scott. 2000-2003 Johnny Marr and The Healers opening for oasis in Europe releasing album and 6 month world tour 2004-2008 Oasis 2 studio albums and 120live shows. 2006-2017 Pengu!Ns , Sshh touring internationally. Releasing 3 singles, Kasabian bbc proms 2007 Weller Coxon Starkey Mani. 2015 Hollywood Vampires Roxy LA shows and rock in Rio 2017-2020 Trojan Jamaica record label releasing three albums and winning Grammy for best reggae album 2020 2020 Peter Green Tribute Concert . As u see there has always been time for other projects … 2022-2025/now mantra of the cosmos with Shaun Ryder Bez Andy Bell and NG. Releasing singles but not touring cos members are so busy. None of this has ever interfered with The Who and was never a problem for them . The lie is or would have been that I quit the who- i didn’t. I love the who and everyone in it."
  19. Thanks for this info. Sadly, shipping on both those sites is more expensive than the string itself!
  20. Hi Nick, Thank you for posting Nick's foundation info. I can't imagine how proud he would be to know this exists... It was good to meet you at the studio, thought I'd join the BC forum now I'm learning to play bass. Kathryn (aka Blondy!) Ps purchased a little Squier Mustang in Olympic white 😍
  21. Today
  22. Sorry man, I’ve another set but they’re clover and relic’d if any good?
