Love the following description from the auction...
from the golden years of Japanese manufacture from their factory in Taiwan.

This one probably deserves to be in the Rickenfaker thread. :)

I've seen this sort of pricing before. It's supposed to be some kind of psychological incentive to encourage people to buy, and always ends up with odd prices. I've no idea how it's supposed to work or how they arrive at the figures though.

G&L was building the Interceptor bass in the 80s, one version of which came with a Kahler vibrato as standard. The 80s were strange times.

As for the Aria, still using sen in '81, not Canadian ash. And someone should tell him it's walnut stained, not oak.

Time for a trawl

Antoria SG short-scale , looks tidy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Antoria-EBO-bass-Made-Japan-1970s-/290676535363?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43adabf043

Yamaha BB800 - I have had one of these since 1980 , better than any 1970s Fender precision. This looks like it will go for a song, someone please buy it to stop me!

Aria The Cat - not too shabby! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aria-Cat-electric-bass-guitar-/290677501787?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item43adbaaf5b

'Jedson' Les Paul - I don't recall Jedson ever making anything as nice as this so it might be something more interesting.

There have been a few upgrade bits fitted - in fact, from his description I'd say it wasn't a Jedson because the original bridge and tailpiece were the more primitive string'n'toastrack and a bit of wood.
