BassApprentice Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Adam Clayton is moving on some of his basses and other bits and bobs. They are, unsurprisingly, not cheap 😅 https://www.juliensauctions.com/en/auctions/played-worn-torn-2025 1 Quote

HeadlessBassist Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Good job I'm not a U2 fan. Not sure my bank account could take it! This one of those situations where the maker (Warwick or Fender, etc) supply several identical basses for a tour, and the player obviously cherry picks the best ones from the batch. These are obviously the surplus ones that probably got played a couple of times, or were kept as backups. (Apart from the 60s Fender, of course!) Edited 16 hours ago by HeadlessBassist Quote
Lozz196 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago A few on there I quite like but most a bit too blingy for me. Quote
Brian18242 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago The Sadowsky Will Lee Jazz is gorgeous! I had no idea he even played sadowsky basses? I also notice quite a few of his Warwick basses are getting moved on. It will be interesting to see if he starts playing any new basses next year. Quote
Linus27 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I saw this the other day and despite being a huge U2 and Adam fan, sadly all the basses are way out of my price range. I'd love the Sherwood Green Jazz or the Lakland Darryl Jones Jazz. Quote
Pea Turgh Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Weird - the actual vintage ones have lower bids. Almost normal. 2 Quote
Hellzero Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago My question might sound weird, but is the main portion of the cake going to Adam Clayton? Or is it a full charity sale? 1 Quote
tauzero Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 28% buyer's premium, then if you're in the UK or EU there's shipping costs, duty, and VAT to add, at least doubling the hammer price. So the main portion of the cake is going to the auction house and the exchequers of the various other countries. 1 1 Quote
Misdee Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If Adam Clayton doesn't want them then I don't either. Besides which, wearing a Rolex is just asking for trouble nowadays apparently. According to the Daily Mail, in central London you might just as well chop your own arm off with a chainsaw. 1 Quote
