basexperience Posted yesterday at 12:33 Posted yesterday at 12:33 Seriously good value if you use this brand / gauge - 2 sets for under £30 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0007MWDOC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title Fill your boots! I clean my strings in a meths / denatured alcohol bath so I get several uses out of one set (never had one break yet!) and they come back bright and played-in. Cheers m'deers Andy W 1 3 Quote
asingardenof Posted yesterday at 12:48 Posted yesterday at 12:48 The 45-105 two pack is only £23! Bring on payday! 1 Quote
neepheid Posted yesterday at 13:03 Posted yesterday at 13:03 This great offer keeps coming back - availed myself of it a few weeks back. Don't be put off by the vague delivery times when you place the order - I don't know if they wait until enough orders come in to be able to buy it at the price they need, but in my experience, it starts off being months away and ends up winging your way in a couple of weeks. 1 Quote

warwickhunt Posted yesterday at 14:21 Posted yesterday at 14:21 I 'think' I've just ordered x2 12 string set for £48.63... if that is for 2 sets (image shows box that states 2 sets), then it is virtually half price! @Sean @12stringbassist @Wolverinebass 3 Quote

I got given £37 in vouchers this morning as a thank you from a client so will have another look. I use the EXL170-BT set (45, 60, 80, 107) on the Eb-standard Spectors but am willing to shift gauge a bit for that kind of bargain. I ordered 2 sets of 12s just before I got my 12 @£22 a set each. They were pictured as a twin pack but arrived as two separate packs. All legit, the players points went on no issue. The packaging was a bit crushed and I think they’ve probably been around a while but the bags were intact. Edited yesterday at 14:34 by Sean 1 Quote
Sean Posted yesterday at 14:55 Posted yesterday at 14:55 I’ve just spent invested my £37 voucher and £8 more... £45 for 4 sets. 4 sets of Legacy from Strings Direct is £50. This lot would be £64. 4 sets of HQS Harley Benton strings would be 4 x £8.60 + £10 shipping = £44.40. 1 Quote
basexperience Posted yesterday at 15:50 Author Posted yesterday at 15:50 Fascinating, I didn't see these other offers, even when I looked into the D'addario store - there doesn't seem to be any single page presenting this stuff. Quote
RussFM Posted yesterday at 16:16 Posted yesterday at 16:16 Last time they did this I saved the codes and entered them when D'addario did a double points offer and ended up with another £35 of free stuff 😄 3 Quote

tauzero Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Shame they don't do two-packs of the 5-string 40s. Quote

Yeah, sure! It's dead simple - just find a receptacle big enough (I'm using a plastic Costco snack container, the kind with a big screw top lid) - fill up nearly to the top with the meths, then wind up the strings tight enough to pop them in the meths, leave them there for a day or two, then pull them out and air dry (preferably outside or somewhere with really good airflow). That's all there is to it! Periodically I have to extract the gunk from the bottom as it can stain the strings eventually if it gets on there, but otherwise, that's it! 1 Quote
