NBD - Fender Mod Shop Precision

Ordered 1 May, delivered 25 July - so a little over the 10 weeks stated. No updates during that time (even after phoning customer service number provided on confirmation, UK-based, useless had no info beyond it will arrive at some point). Eventually emailed the address supplied on the confirmation and got through to very helpful team (Amsterdam-based I think) who explained they ship these to Europe in batches, so the bass was made but waiting at the dock. Sent me a £100 gig bag by way of apology. Bass and gig bag ended up arriving on the same day.

 

Was she worth it? Very...

Fit and finish are all really decent and it weighs about 8.5 lbs. Set-up was decent, way-better than other stock Fenders I've had from new.

All-in-all, I'm a very happy boy.

Congrats P-T-P! That looks lovely, especially the P&J setup with the stacked concentric controls and through body stringing. Love the grain on the fingerboard too. Is that the all-rosewood neck option?

Thanks. It’s a roasted maple neck and fingerboard.

Lovely! Stacked controls are a nice touch and a great alternative to having more than two single controls. I would probably prefer a pickguard-mounted output socket though seeing as the usual position for one is free.

They've released a couple of limited edition American Standard/Professional PJ basses in recent years, including a "roasted blues" version which was kinda the inspiration for this bass, and then of course...

I think side jacks are neater if you are using a wireless transmitter.

That is class @P-T-P. The stacked controls are a proper cherry on the pink icing, cake.
