Well it looks like I will be able to come as the tummy tuck (AKA hernia repair) has worked well.

At a recent Bash, I was given a load of faulty cables. I am in the middle of going through them and repairing them. If Mike lets me, I will take a small table and display them to sell. They will not have the lifetime guarantee I give with my bespoke cables, but they will be good spare cables and I will guarantee them for a year.

There are instrument (2-6m) and speaker cables (0.5-1.2m). Where the current connectors are usable, I will reuse them, where they are not, I will replace them. Most of the instrument cables will have a straight plug on one end and a right-angled plug on the other. The speaker cables will have SpeakOns on both ends, either Neutrik, or Rean.

Prices from £5-10.

Of course, I will still be taking orders for any special cable requirements you have in the meantime.

I should point out that the tweed cable above is no longer stocked so is a special order. It makes a nice cable when made but is is no fun to work

I didn't know about this. Sick of junk cables from big brands who simply farm them out to the cheapest Chinese supplier.

I do like a decent cable, properly made and just the right length. Mmm....

Look forward to seeing them at the bash and talking more.

He does make a lovely cable.  A worthy successor to obbm.

I was really looking forward to heading up to Taunton again this year but my plans have been thwarted as Mrs OBBM has acquired tickets to see Chris McCausland at the Hall for Cornwall that afternoon.  We don't many big names down here as it's a bit off the beaten track and, anyway, it would more than my life's worth to decline.  I'll try and get there next year.

Definitely, and thanks for taking the recycling mission on.

And another thing 🙂

Since last year's Bash, the hall floor has been sanded and re-finished at substantial expense. Apart from asking for especially respectful use this time, I'd like anyone who has suitable (i.e. flat rubber) cable ducting to please bring it along to supplement what I already have. People tripping over cables is top of my risk-assessment list but gaffer tape will definitely be a no-no from now on. I'll be bringing a few rolls of wide masking tape or other low-tack tape if I can find something suitable. Any suggestions anybody?

Ta very much!

I was thinking of this with regard to a temporary lecture theatre situation I have to set up soon. As it's for work not play, I've ordered ten feet of cable guard, but I can bring it along.

If anyone wants to buy some, this seems to be a good deal 10 feet (3m) for £16.99. Beware lots of what look like good solutions are self-adhesive for semi-permanent uses, and I'm fairly sure folk will want versions with a grip underneath for temporary use.

I may get commission if you use this link, but it won't cost you extra: https://amzn.to/426GFTI
