msb Posted April 28 Posted April 28 (edited) The Chinese Plexi DanArmstrong gift arrived first thing this morning. I’ve got to say it’s not as heavy as I thought it might be , I think it feels around ten pounds , perhaps a shade under. I put on some old flats that had been resting on another bass , oiled the fingerboard and pickguard and spent much of the day turning knobs and playing around with it. I like it , Edited April 28 by msb Quote

Not sure if this is T1 or T2 to be honest. It's not in the signal chain directly, but each pedal is. I'll call it T2 @Obrienp - T1 fail with a LFSys Cab @SimonK - was already out, but is now trying to start a breeding colony with all the amps he's bought @Geek99 - T1 fail on a 5 string @miles'tone - T1 fail on a CV Mustang @fretmeister - T2 fail on a guitar fuzz pedal, and enjoying his unsolicited bass @Quilly - T1 fail, Dr Green T1 bass reverb @Sean - T1 fail, buying back a bass he sold 4 years ago @Stub Mandrel - Sentenced to death for not only buying plectrums but getting them personalised. @Franticsmurf - T1 fail on a 5 string. @msb - still in as the bass was a gift @lozkerr - T1 fail Thumpinator pickup Three 5 string basses there - is there something in the BC water? Quite a casualty rate... "This isn't rock and roll, this is genocide!" Quote
SimonK Posted Monday at 14:17 Posted Monday at 14:17 Can we have a competition for the biggest fail among those of us who joined in January? I may have now added a fiver to the multiple stacks bought so far this year (happy birthday to me!) 😎 3 Quote
AndyTravis Posted Monday at 14:19 Posted Monday at 14:19 I’ve done about 8 basses, of which I’ve sold 4… 2 Quote

Maude Posted Monday at 15:06 Posted Monday at 15:06 I'm still in. All I've bought remotely related this year is a display cabinet for my halo. 😇 🤣🤣 7 Quote
msb Posted Tuesday at 13:09 Posted Tuesday at 13:09 Still looking at kijiji and some classifieds , when I see a bargain I post it on a local jam page , or PM immediately friends. I haven’t had the urge to buy anything although I would have snagged that Dan Armstrong that was listed for a song. It’s almost income tax return season , so I may sell some extra amps , maybe a bass or two. Quote

Geek99 Posted Tuesday at 22:02 Posted Tuesday at 22:02 (edited) @Richard R isn’t that missing a tuning key? You’d best buy one … 😈 Edited Tuesday at 22:16 by Geek99 1 Quote

msb Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Spotted an Acinonyx in Toronto for a good price. They’re discontinued , any future runs will be built in the USA so the price will go up steeply. I’ve been looking at them since they came out. Strongly tempted , but holding off. Quote

Richard R Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Synchronised T1 failure this afternoon. @Suburban Man bought my EBS Session 60 amp, and I took his Smoothhound wireless system in PX. I did think of claiming that I was just in the same car park in Brackley at the same time, and the prior text messages between us were nothing to do with a meeting to jointly commit this crime, and it's all just circumstancial with no real evidence. The Acinonyx has a very unique eq stack. Eight push buttons , and a volume knob. I know some thumpers that have bought them and they were very happy. It’s said to be a great lightweight short scale. And a great sounding bass. My kind of fun. I don’t know that I would find a better deal. The price is good. And they are no longer in production. So I’m tempted , I have the music emergency fund carefully stashed away in a sock. But I don’t think I’m going to jump. Quote
