I've been using a Tonex One for ampless guitar in a covers band for a few months and have absolutely loved it. I'll use it either straight into the desk or into the FX return of a house amp (if there is one) with the IRs turned off. So long as the monitoring is ok, no complaints (and if the monitoring is crap, I have a Behringer P2 and in ears and will just take a line from whatever wedge is nearest).

Now I'm playing bass for that same covers band, I'm going to give it a go again for ampless bass tones.

I hope they'll offer the option to audition amps and maybe buy individual models. I'm not going to pay $100 for 150 models, of which I would use 10 at most.

So it's just a reskin of the original Tonex One? I'm hoping so!

I can see the parallel wet/dry thing being useful, but beyond that I'm really not interested in any of the added "features", as I tend to find a lot of the user created captures are better than IKs stuff anyway.

Watched 2 minutes of that... Jeez what is so difficult about carrying a TRS>XLR cable with you when you have a Tonex, Stomp et al?

BuT i'M a BaSsiT! i NeEd XlR! 🙃

I also don't understand the frustration it seems to generate. I don't think guitarists are so ready to get so angry about the lack of an XLR.

Exactly.

With regards the Tonex, I’ve said for ages I rate it highly - I sold mine and tbh regretted it. I’m likely going to buy the small Tonex One pedal with this bass pack pre loaded on it — £179 in Andertons and you can use some pretty cheap midi pedals to get more functionality from it that you do the big Tonex (like so) 👇

I’ve got the Stomp which has acceptable amp/cab sims, I’ve got a great analogue preamp which I only really bought so I could run it into my amps fx loop on gigs with backline but use for everything currently, however the Tonex amps are streets ahead of either really if you’re going direct or recording (Just IMO ofc)

Seems a shame there’s a price jump from the tonex one to the tonex one bass edition though. The promise of a wet dry blend has me potentially sold though - it’ll likely kick my ultra wave and jam rattler off the board and I’ll keep the tone hammer as a DI/tone sculpt

So the £130 pedal becomes £180 if it's preloaded with presets that I presume you could add to the £130 one? Have I got that right?
