RhysP Posted November 20, 2010 Share Posted November 20, 2010 When I woke up this morning I had absolutely no plans whatsoever to buy a bass..... 10 hours later now & I'm the proud owner of this: Double first for me - my first 5 string bass & my first Musicman. It looks like Candy Apple Red in the photo but it's actually a lot darker, sort of a metallic burgundy. Lovely bass, and after 2 years of playing nothing but my Zons it feels very....woody. Trust me, shop around and you can get them for under £1500....brand new Bit of haggling doesnt hurt as well! matt scarborough Posted December 4, 2010 Share Posted December 4, 2010 Heres my Musicman Sub. I bought it back in 2005 new, since then ive had a Status neck and front jazz pick-up fitted. The pick-up was a waste of time but the neck certainly made a difference. I must have had 10other basses since then which ive bought as a spare/back-up bass. None have come close to this bass so they've all been moved on. I think il just buy another sub when i come across one. I love its simplicity and the fact i can use for all different styles of music and it cuts through. I gig it and use it for practice. I will get some better pics up once I can get all the MM's out at the same time, Still need a 30th though oh and a fretless and maybe a 20th and maybe a family reserve........... It is identical to the one that I bought with my first record deal advance back in 1998 which I stupidly sold some years later. So this is basically replacing my dream bass but thankfully sounds and plays much nicer The only issue is I don't really play it as I prefer to play my Fender Precision. I really really want to get a fretless Stingray but can't afford it so its either sell/swap this for one, get a fretless neck (rare as rocking horse poo) for this one or just not get one at all.
