Under fair use, and stating that the music, and the music video remain property of their respective owners . . . it should be ok? I'd guess that neck could have come from a multitude of places - it's a Fender looking headstock at least... Loads of that stuff available. That body reminds me of a PRS initially, but with a long lower horn. Being that it's some sort of clear plastic, it could be made by someone not associated with the bass business. Pickup looks like a Gibson Mudbucker type, which you won't find on a Dan or any of the various 70s copies, as far as I know. Most of the copies had twin humbuckers, but there's no routing visible for these so I don't think the body's from an old copy. The base of the neck extends beyond the heel of the board so it can fit to the body, I would guess this neck's been made specifically to do this. chris_b Posted January 5, 2015 Share Posted January 5, 2015 As far as I know the only Acrylic basses that went into production were made by Dan Armstrong. The rest are probably one-offs. I've seen several acrylic P basses, John Entwistle had one and I saw one being used in Goldfrapp. This could have been made to match the Ludwig Vistalite drum kit and fit the futuristic robotic look. There are plenty of custom bass makers who'd be happy to assemble or make such a bass - for a price. I'd like one - but the solid plastic ones tend to weigh a ton. He brought along a prototype totally Perspex Bass built for Charlie Jones, it weighed a ton and the neck flexed at will. Next version had a wooden neck or at least a wooden fingerboard.
