*SOLD* Limelight Relic 1960 Stack-Knob Jazz Bass (2014)

Didn't think I'd ever be selling this, but the opportunity has arisen to purchase a very special bass which has been missing from my life and needs to be back in it, so here we are. This is a Limelight Relic 1960 Stack-Knob Jazz Bass made by Mark Morgan-Richards of Limelight Guitars earlier this year. I've owned it for just four weeks!

This is what it sounds like!

It plays exceptionally well, is light (8.6 lbs), very resonant and is an accurate replica of a 1960 custom-colour Fender Jazz bass. It has stack-knobs, slab-board, brass earthing bridge strap, screw-holes where the mutes were fitted, clay dots, period Fender decal and correct bridge, tuners and other hardware. It's fitted with Status Hot Wires Half-Wound 45-105 strings. And now, some pics:

In my opinion it's better than a Bravewood or a Nash (or Fender CS) and is a bargain. Payment via bank transfer ONLY, please. I'm NOT looking for trades, thanks very much. I'd prefer cash on collection if possible - the bass is located in SE London close to the A205 South Circular. However, if necessary the bass will be posted in a Spider fitted hard case and well-packed in a strong cardboard box. Despatch will be via an appropriate tracked method. Buyer will be sent an ETA and tracking information. My feedback is here.

[s]NOTE: There is also a custom Spitfire Tort Guard by Mark Townsend available - if you want this too then the bass will be £75 extra, i.e. £950 posted.
Otherwise the bass will be fitted with its original Limelight guard. This is the Spitfire guard, and very nice it is too.[/s]

Bass will now be supplied with the Spitfire guard included in the price.

I thank you! :)

You're selling this to get a bass back that you regret letting go. Can you not see that the cycle will simply continue?!
I was going to say, I bet as soon as you buy this other one you will regret selling this!

To be fair, IIRC Mark/discreet owned that Precision from new in 1976 and played it in Pigbag back in the 1980s. I think that counts as a lot of memories!

Just about to make the same post, Clarky! :) I owned said bass from new and played it for thirty-five years until I sold it two years ago.
It's absolutely 100% stock and original and has had the pickguard off just once - to replace perished pickup foam.

Why did you sell it in the first place??

I wish I had a bass that meant as much. My from-new Roadworn almost gets there, but for some reason it feels fake.... (cos it didn't get that wear from me!)

Thank you... it's got the Type 'C' TV logo which was used from the late 60s up to late 76 when the logo changed and the serial number was moved from the neck plate to the headstock.
The wear is totally genuine and is a consequence of... the bass being played over three and a half decades!!

So,
A.You were famous.
B. You sold that Precision.

It is fairly obvious your sanity has completely legged it. You must keep the Limelight, buy the P back and give them both to somebody of sound mind, to ensure they are properly looked after.
Hmph, sound mind, didn't think that one through did I. :dash1:

Good luck getting your P back Mark.
