Dingus Posted June 18, 2014 Share Posted June 18, 2014 These basses don't appeal to me in the slightest, I'm afraid. Not an attractive design to me. I suppose it would look the part if you were in an Indie band , but I am too old for that now, and even when I was younger, I liked Toto. I wholeheartedly agree with everyone else who says that it's crazy that Fender don't offer an American Standard -level PJ bass. If they made a good one it would sell a lot of basses for them. Fender do offer a very high spec (in my opinion) PJ Precision bass. Hello, Tony Franklin sig? Also looking at the specs, the J pup on the jag looks to be very similar, if not the same as the TF precision. Would probably end up leaving the settings such that it played like a passive P-bass (which would be a bit of a waste, arguably), but it does look very cool. [/quote] On the top horn one switch controls whether it's active or passive. The two rollers near it are bass and treble boost. The three swicthes at the bottom switch each pickup on or off and the thrd one switches them between series and parallel. The two "normal" knobs are volume and tone. ...I seem to remember. The guy told me the 3rd switch was a bass cut, but as said above it may have been a series/parallel switch!
