Headliners:
Tom Jones, Elton John, The Who

Pyramid Stage - other:
Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel, Blink 182, David Bowie, Elbow, The Blues Brothers, Johnny Cash, Aretha Franklin

Small stages:
Immortal Technique, Dream Theater, Methany Meldau Quartet, M83, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Etta James, Dr. Feelgood

That'll have to do for now. I could literally come up with like 100 artists I'd like to see at Glasto!
Immortal Technique, oh yes.

Mine would be to get rid of the BBC and all the corporate bullshit that promotes the mediocre music.
While I hate to disagree with someone who puts Cardiacs, Swans, Godflesh and Cocteau Twins on any sort of list, the BBC introducing stage has put some great bands on and given them some decent exposure.
Fair point. My point about the BBC is that they have a monopoly of who is who. My point is do away with all TV coverage and let the punters tell their friends. It's fantasy, go with me. :)

I'd like to experience the original festival, was it Hawkind and the like ?
No it was Tyrannosaurus Rex (i.e. T Rex before they were any good) and a whole load of other hippy folk rock nonsense.

No love for the newer stuff? We're gonna try out 'Coil' on a wmc audience next week. A great eclectic mix by the way B)

Coil is one of my favourite Opeth songs. I always forget about Watershed!
I'm not a fan of Heritage though, weakest album they've ever done.

Watershed's a cracking album! The Lotus Eater and Hex Omega are two of my favourite Opeth numbers.

Still Life's still the favourite though. The whole album is a masterpiece. Would love to see White Cluster performed live.

Id be happy if they just binned all the pretentious faux-retro acts with 60's hairstyles and instruments.

I believe it was; hawkwind , bolan , bowie, pink gairies, gong, edgar broughton band, skin alley etc.
on the album, the original version of silver machine was on it, with calvert(not lemmy ) vocals .

According to Wikipedia that was the second year in 1971. The 1970 line up wasn't half as exciting...
