I wish people would stop this over-hyping of what is just another option.

Well I wasn't being entirely serious. :) My Bill Fitzmaurice cabs easily keep up with Barefaced gear - in my opinion. But of course you do have to make them yourself. But I do think Barefaced cabs are exceptional. I borrowed a Super 12 from Happy Jack for a few months and it was the tits.

They sound good but you can get an Ampeg 410HLF for less than any BF cab and they are truly exceptional and industry standard.

Very true - and I do like Ampeg gear a lot. But an S12 is a one-hand lift. So are my BFMs.
Hauling heavy cabs became very tedious after three decades. ;)

Exactly my point.
Aye, the trouble with everyone's opinions is they present them as fact. Truly exceptional for you isn't the same as truly exceptional for me, or the next person reading this. The same argument just in yet another thread ;)

Irrespective of what they sound like they weight 40KG so why it would even get a mentioned in a thread related to specialist lightweight gear is a mystery to me.

I'm sorry but IMO Barefaced are not the be all and end all of cabs,
Depends what your requirements are. For me anything over 30lbs is too heavy for a cab so unless I want to seriously compromise on power/effeciency/tone then they are pretty close to being the "be all and end all" (the only other serious contender seems to be TKS ...).

Actually, this thread was about extended delivery delays, broken delivery promises and poor customer service, not about cabinet weight.

Ah yes, but it mentions the word "Barefaced" in the thread title, so all the usual suspects pop in to make their usual comments and digs about BF cabs, BF owners and BF management. It is all getting rather tedious.

Most of us who now own BF gear have been through many of the cheaper and heavier alternatives. Not many of us say that BF cabs are the "best" sounding gear there is (sound is, after all, hugely subjective) or the best to look at (although some people like 'em!); but the overall package of tone, quality, loudness, lightness and price makes them a very good buy for those of us that like them.

There will always be people who, for whatever reasons, dislike certain products. That's cool. Their loss. But to constantly dig and snipe whenever a BF thread comes along is just pointless and makes them look bitter.

There is enough gear out there for everyone to find their favourites. Just let them/us get on with it, eh?

I don't believe that to be the case at all. The guys I would expect to have commented as the "usual suspects" are missing from the entire thread... unless they haven't chosen to speak up yet.

As Wayne said, people generally don't criticise Barefaced on here much. Probably because of the aggressive responses they receive - as we see in this thread.

"I waited five months, paid in full, and a month later couldn't even elicit an email from the company!"

"Don't worry son, they'll turn up eventually. And when they do, they'll sound amazing. Did I mention they were lightweight? Oh, yes."
"If you want a Michelin starred meal, you must be prepared to pay in advance and wait a month. Didn't you know that? Maybe you should have gone to McDonalds instead. Ho, ho. Lightweight. Light as a feather they are. I'll come back later and patronise you some more, OK?"
"You should be grateful you're being allowed to buy them. I have my bass on my back, my Barefaced in one hand, and my walking stick in the other. Hey ho!"
"What do you mean, the feet fall off? May your dick fall off and your balls shrivel up, you horrible piece of sh*t."
"I have a SuperDuper 12 and I'm loving it. I go to bed with it and give it a good seeing-to every night. Have I posted a picture of it in my living room? I have? Several times? Oops."
"What do you mean, you sent the money and haven't heard from them since. They're craftsmen, they are. And craftsmen should be allowed to craft and not be bothered with things like writing emails. Do you know that they are lightweight? Well, they are - so there!"
"I waited patiently for five years for mine - and bloody hell, it was worth it!! You can knock a candle out at ten paces with these buggers. Pity I gave up playing in the time being, but my god, they're lightweight. Lightweight I tell you"
"Sorry, I'm not having that. What do you mean UNPROFESSIONAL. I challenge you to a duel with pistols, sir. How DARE you!!"
"My pal Alex was professional when I ordered my cab. So you are WRONG!"
"Barefaced should put the prices up. I mean, £30 for carriage - that's too cheap. It should be £100."
"I can't be doing with a cab that weighs 40kg. I mean, my back would give out if I just looked at one of those. Give me a B, give me an A, give me a, errrr..... what's after A?? Anyway, they're as light as a feather, and that's all that matters. End of." :D :D :D :D :P

Oh sorry, yup,

"They are really loud. Loud enough to know a sparrow off a fence at two hundred metres (don't ask!). Especially compared with that Ampeg muck. Who'd have one of those when they could have a Barefaced? Idiots and morons. Sh*t! I mean, the Ampegs are sh*t, not Barefaced. They are wonderful with a capital 'w'. Loud and lightweight. Ooh, alliteration. I'm a poet. :) "

Personally, no - but any other bass cabs are ten a penny. ;)
still wouldnt wait six months.

as has been said bf get of lightly if not free, where a brand like fender or ampeg would get bashed!

and yeh the threads where people ask for a cab and get advised to go barefaced are really boring.
