I'll certainly be heading to the jam room too, this year.
Not sure if I'll be bringing my bigger Trace Elliot rig but can bring my l'il old Trace Elliot BLX-80 combo, if that helps. :)
Ahh, Nik said he'd bring one, but very many thanks!

I'm seriously hoping to get a jam going to, been far far too long since I bashed out a groove with a drummer and a guitarist....
Excellent!

One more thing about the JAM ROOM, there is no such thing as a wrong note in there, and I mean that, just piss around and find the notes you like from the twelve choices available :)

You should have heard the venerable Alex Claber making random funky rhino noises in 6/8 last year (on his bass, not his cab design workshop), it was so much fun!

Hi Dave,
I've sorted patch cables now thank-you, but I still need a pedal power cable :)

Haha, how do you know Tom? :)

OK guys, odd request here...

Any of you fine folks from, or around the Bristol area? I have a bass I would like to get from the bash on Saturday to a fellow Basschatter in Bristol and they can't make it to the bash due to having a gig. It'd just be a case of taking it home and they'd collect from you… I'll happily buy you a pint and a curly whirly for your time :)

Another odd request, will someone be able to give me a hand unloading? My back is f***ed,
I will, coz I'm a nice person.

If, and only if, you promise that you will actually be bringing an Arsenal shirt of course :)

I don't recall what workshop urb would've been doing, but if it was to look at technique then I'd be happy to stand in in his absence... provided people were interested? I can look at 2 finger technique, the different variations thereof as well as what works and why. I can also go over the 4 finger Matt Garrison technique, slap/double thumb, left hand technique, harmonics (artificial and natural), muting, ergonomics, etc. I'd be happy to spend some time on explaining the above but also leave room for Q&A and looking at specific difficulties that people might have... a trouble-shooting clinic if you like? Music theory is also possible, but it depends what people want as it's quite a diverse topic and sometimes a bit drier than looking at more interesting techniques... though I like to think those I've taught find my teaching fun and accessible!

I've messaged silverfoxnik about this but thought I'd add it on here in the event anyone is interested.

Thanks for this.. will be posting Workshop running order later today now everyone's confirmed! :)

My car will now be so loaded that I suspect I won't be abnle to bring a DB after all. :)

Is this a problem for Bassace's presentation?
No problem, HJ. I'm going to do a short presentation on starting out on the bass and comparing/contrasting two forms of amping - a simple small plug 'n play rig and a mic/ mini PA option. Anyone who wants a go is welcome to try my bass and I gather that Jake is bringing along his old German bass. He is a very good teacher so we should have all bases (sic) covered.
