I think the BTB 5s are a smidgin over £600 new though aren't they? Any particular reason why it has to be new? Is it a gift for someone? They also have wider string spacing than the SRs IIRC. I used a BTB406 for about 8 years and it never let me down once apart from one string break, which is a pretty good success rate over hundreds of gigs. As a local and a customer I can vouch for them being a decent shop. On a personal note, I have to say I'm surprised by the love for Ibanez BTBs - I bought a matching pair a few years ago (a 5 and a 6) and found them to be fairly rough-and-ready for the money. All the hardware started to tarnish quite badly after a couple of months, and the stock pickups/EQ were quite lacklustre. Have they improved the range substantially since I got rid? I love my BTB676 though the neck isn't perfect (a few sanding issues over looked same on the back of the body, though its minute) and its sounds awesome to my ears! It'll only be about 380, it's got a thru-neck, a 7 piece maple and walnut neck, mahogany wings, upgraded bridge, pups and active eq, and if you get a new one it'll have the correct strap button position and won't neck dive one bit. I would probably still recommend a second hand german Warwick over this though. So, does it [i]have[\i] to be new? And what do you want it for?
