Hi 73 Jazz , I had the refin done about 6-7 years ago and I think it was about £350 for the body work . back then there was a 6 month wait for the guitar to be returned . I was talking to Mark Foley who runs Fatboy Guitars here on the Isle of Wight . Mark specialises in ageing scratchplates and pickup covers and other small items for guitars , and he knows Clive quite well and says he now has a 3 year wait list and you are probably looking at £500 for a refin . Best idea is to contact Clive himself for price and waiting times .
Mark did a brilliant job of a authentic torty shell scratchplate , he has them cut in old style nitro cellulose by Martin Sims of the Sims Custom shop and then ages them for you , very handy guy to know .
Best Wishes
Martin.

I'll add this '83 Squier '57 Fiesta red. Had it since new , some wear & tear issues , but not too bad considering....
Very cool Donnyboy. The band we played with at the weekend had a bassist with a JV Squier & it was lovely
:

Why thank you - I think it's cool too!! Thing is very few others agree referring , somewhat unkindly, to "that pink thing" :) What to they know?

2004 Fender CIJ '62 RI, bought off Lee650 on here some time ago
Upgraded tuners, CTS pots, PIO tone cap, Seymour Duncan SPB-1 'Vintage' pickup, covers added.... otherwise standard :)
Strung with La Bella flats. Its not a heavy bass; a nice weight & a lovely neck to play - a good bass for long gigs.
I agree with Clarky, such a lovely '62 RI - I don't think I've seen it in this colour before.

Thanks. I haven't either, photo doesn't show it too well, but its actually more orangey than the usual fiesta red. Guess made to look aged/faded.

Nice bass ... I'm not that much of a precision buff (so you might need to educate me) ... but didn't the migration of the 'rest' from bottom to top happen mid-70's ? If so how come this one is at the top ... do the RIs come that way ?

I am Precision-less for the moment (waiting for my Fender-stein PJ project to finish...) but here are my two previous PBs:

1998 Fender AM Std, sold in 2008

2006 Squier Affinity, sold couple of months ago

Strangely enough, I liked the Squier much more than its MIA predecessor! It played better and didn't have this annoying dead-note problem on 7th fret.
