Not going to be able to make this now I'm afraid, so Surrey will be spared the Mesa 1516. Hope it all goes well guys

C
Shocked on both counts Chris; 1) that you can't make it :) and 2) that you've still got the 1516...

Hopefully next year then and hope all's well...

Well, my gig was cancelled, and I need to meet up with bassmanady to complete a certain transaction, so I will be there too.

I'll bring my Bass Collection 465 and GK3-B plus Roland V-Bass unit so there will be opportunities for people to try that out. Not sure what else to bring, I could bring a Burman Pro 4000 but there wasn't a lot of interest in it last time despite us hooking it up to Merton's Vintage and making a lot of irresponsible noise. Maybe my Yamaha BB800 to make silverfoxnik all nostalgic for the Good Old Days :-)

Unfortunately Dave.c has a gig, er, I mean fortunately, er. stop digging, so he wont' be able to come along. If anyone wants a lift from Ipswich or picking up from somewhere close to the A12 on route please let me know. I have a big car and can cart metric shitloads of gear.

I am going to try and make this.

If I get permission I will bring my Vampyre Rockbass and Korn K5 Fieldy.

I will also try and bring my Jeff Berlin Combo and Line 6 Lowdown 300 with Mk2 shortboard. Hopefully someone can show me how to get a decent tone out of it ;-)

You will recognise me as I will have a band (Dropzone) hoody on.

Thanks

Mike
Nik, I would also like to add to the raffle list an as-new Orange Crush pix 25W combo that I simply do not use. Perfect condition and function. Looks like this:

Bloody hell Clarky, that's very generous!

It may seem like a ridiculous question chaps, but having never been to a Bass Bash before and having limited experience of all things bass, the venue is not far from me but:-
1) will there be things going on there for all levels of competence/experience,
2) can I only come for part of the day (as would have to disappear early afternoon),
3) would I get nothing out of it if only there for part of the day, &
4) would I need to bring my bass with me to get anything out of it?

Sorry for the questions, which probably seem ridiculous for you seasoned bass bashers.

Pat

Sorry Pat, I'm afraid the bash is for advanced and experts only and you must have at least one custom built bass, preferably a Shuker or a RIM, ACG is good too. It's possible you'll get let in with a GB, but it must be at 5 string at least.

Do you like Alain Caron?

I was just kidding mate.

All of your questions have positive answers except 4), you have only to bring yourself. No equipment is necessary.

Bashes are VERY relaxed affairs, where fellow bassists can chat, try eachother's gear, there's a raffle, some workshops, refreshments, etc. You will come away with a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart and have made some new friends. I can guarantee you'll enjoy even half a day there.

Cheers.
Nigel

Be prepared to hear a lot of people making a LOT of noise though (equal amount hot air and bass playing), and I should warn you that there may be some slapping going on....

Doesnt matter if you only started a couple of weeks ago as far as anyone there is concerned, its enough to be interested in bass.

Oh ok, you had better donate your Alembic then mate. The Orange seems quite a mean, churlish donation now you mention it.

Clarky; that's a fabulous offer - you are a star! Will update the list accordingly..

And whilst on the issue of the Raffle, can I suggest that we open up the opportunity to buty Raffle tickets to fellow Basschatters who aren't going to be there on the day? IIRC, it's something we did at one of the previous Bashes.

Tickets could be purchased using PayPal perhaps and then there'd only be the issue of postage costs

What do you think?
