1.
Front panel is 'JTM 45' - you have to zoom the pics.
I'm a lazy man..
2. No model code and small grey feet and a cream back panel provisionally make this a 1965 model. If it's early 1965 then it's a JTM-45, if its late 1965 it MIGHT be a JTM - 100, checking involves looking inside to see if there's two 50 w transformers and a solid state rectifier. Either way, very collectable, big bucks and DON'T PLUG IT IN without getting it checked first.
3. Columbus Precision H + H VS Musician head ( reverb on ) Coloursound Flanger Unbranded 1 x 15 W bin Trivia - guitarist was a chap by the name of Ian Dench who went on to do something called EMF and the drummer was my daughter's landlord a few years ago and I had no idea.
4. 1978 Fender Precision Squier Precision for the rougher gigs No idea what make the leads are Peavey Mk VI 2 1x15 Peavey cabs. Keep it simple.
5. My previously mentioned Tokai Thunderbird, and also my Tokai Precision, I always assumed it was the much lighter body weight compared to the original design's heavier body that caused the imbalance.
6.
I have never had a problem with neck dive on my T'birds. I sometimes loop my strap over the body, which holds the head/neck at any angle you want all day long.
Seems to be more of an issue with the Tokai ones
7.
Neck what?
Neck dive.Inherently unbalanced design, when you strap it on the headstock decides it wants to touch the floor.
8. School friend said "I'm forming a band get a bass" So I did.
9. The Tokai Thunderbirds are extremely nice well made quality instruments, but they take neck dive to the level of an olympic sport.
10. Only got flats on one bass ( Burns Sonic) and had them for 24 years so far, and they weren't new in the first place.
11.
Basically they have got Sid Vicious when they needed Stanley Clarke (a little extreme at both ends of that comparison - I'm certainly not Stanley Clarke either - but you get the idea). .
I suspect this isn't the point you're making here, but where would the Sex Pistols have been without Sid Vicious ? And it was their guitarist who played bass on their album.. Don't get involved in their band issues, let them do what they have to do, and if they ask you to play then go for it.
12.
Need public liability insurance too! Graham
You should have this anyway . Comes with Musicians Union membership.
13. I was kind of hoping you'd be asking if you should use a bright pink Danelectro Longhorn with a Hello Kitty picture on it..
14.
'welcome to the music industry.'
This.
15. I've not had a lot of problems, my mum being left handed so there was no taint of satan worries, I had one guitar lesson at school which lasted as long as it took the teacher to proclaim "there is no such thing as a left handed guitarist " and my retort of "You're playing Norwegian Wood , think about it"
16.
Being left handed, I spent the first few years of my playing life trying to get away from them as it always made it look as though I couldn't afford a proper left handed bass. The fact that I couldn't actually find any was besides the point.
Yes.My thoughts exactly.
17. Not cool. They could be put on proper left handed instruments.
18. The instrument. Played many a gig with a provided backline, and if you're going through a big PA the audience can't hear your amp and cab anyway.
19.
From a previous band that I was in... Drummer: Oh yeah, by the way I'm cycling to China. I won't be around for a few months. Us: ???
Similarly, drummer rewards himself for finalising a set of originals with a year long trip to Thailand. We waited.
20.
Mine was in tune when I bought it.
Mine wasn't, I took it back.
21. It's not as bad as drummers tuning up between songs.
