In terms of covers bands my list is:- Living on a Prayer Black Night Wishing Well Jump You Really got me Smoke on the water Sweet Child o' Mine Angels Can't get enough i'm currently at war with my band about not doing Superstition.

Someone has just given me a little Marshall head call a Lead 12. I have no speakers at home to try it out(All at fellow band members). Anyone know anything about them?

Groupies for me! Hurrah! However this is because I always make sure I join bands full of ugly bastards! Saying this the best one i had was when i was 18. I was playing bass in a big production of Jesus Christ Superstar. At the time i had very long hair and a bit of beard. The guy playing jesus had short ginger hair so was wearing a wig and wig beard. After all the shows in the bar area after i got all the attention. Loads of people came over saying what a great singer and performer i was....i took all the plaudits and said thanks. It use to really piss the Jesus actor off. Ha ha. One back for the bass players.

When i was younger i got tendonitis (sic) a couple of times thru over playing, and probably bad technique at the time( i used to proper twat the the strings). It bloody hurt and made me sort it out!

The amount of session gigs were i've been given friggin PVG or piano parts or parts written in treble clef is unreal. This is for proper gigs aswell playing theatres like manchester opera house and venues of the like. You do have to adjust. Luckily for me i'm arrogant and single minded and do what i want including the dreaded improvisation, but use my skills and experience to fuse it so it fits. (apart from on one occasion where i kept slipping the welcome to the jungle riff into a song).

I think the whole less is more/ restraint argument is a load of old bollocks. It completely depends on what you are playing. Sometimes stuff needs more not less and if you don't play it you are compromising the music. Conversely, if you are shredding over a piece that doesn't need it you are a tosser and ruining the music! obvious i know, but when people say less is more its like a mantra but it don't apply to everything!

I cannot believe people would think AVH is a bad drummer. He's regarded as one of the best. All ya gotta do is listen to VH1 and 2 to know that. Their music was unique at the time. 1 and 2 are perfect rock albums. Granted sammy hagar period was bollocks but with David Lee they were legendary. MA playes perfect basslines for the songs on all there stuff. definitely JPJ inspired. I read an interview years ago where he said it. he also said he spent ages learning The Lemon Song note perfect. Anyone who can play that note perfect has to be pretty handy.

Oh yeah, how could i forgot the big one. I sing in a ridiculous piss take band (hence the avatar and username), that writes songs about bizarre or disgusting themes. One of them is about masturbation that includes a line about walking in on your parents having sex. My mother turned up to a gig we were playing and cme to the front whilst i sang the song. Fell over cut my hand open on a pint glass. Smashed my bass up and split and bent the headstock with two tunes left. Played Jump and Living on a prayer in a covers band insulted other bands by hitting on their girlfriends (didn't Know) Had to propped up against a wall to play a gig has had been on 48hr bender (not so legal). God knows how i did!

Drums- Terry Bozzio Bass- Jaco Pastorius Guitars- Jimmy Page/Steve Vai Organ/Keyboards- Jon Lord Vocals- Freddie Mercury Think this band would Rock and be a little extravagant, but smart enough to find ther own place. Oh yeah and extremely powerful but with good tunes.
