So what would be the noticeable difference between cabs that went down to 38hz vs 52hz?

As a couple of you may know. I've been pecking heads about ohmage and wattage due to my vast ignorance in all things technical. I've actually learned a little and quite enjoyed it. So i wonder if any of you could give me your opinions on what the pros and cons are between 2x12 cabs and 4x10's, if any! cheers

Sorry for bringing this up yet again! If you are going to put a 500w amp @4 ohms into two 8ohm cabs. Would two 300w handling cabs be enough? Is the 500w split into 250w into each. T^hink i know, I'm just double checking! thanks and sorry!

I think its just takes time. I started playing 5-string a year after i started playing. It took about 5 days of solid practise to get kind of used to it. There was still the occasional mistake. However, been playing 17 yrs now mainly 5 string and i don't feel any difference when swapping between 4 and 5. I'm not saying it for a lame show off, it just illustrates my point of it taking time.

As far as influences, its the boring obvious answers John Paul Jones, Jaco, Stu Hamm. But what made me decide to start playing bass was 'Right Next Door to Hell' by GnR. I just heard that noise at the begining and went 'What the f*** was that' asked my mate, he told me, so i got my dad to buy me a bass. To this day i still love listening to duff. OK fellas last question.....I hope! What would you recommend out of the following scenarios:- 1) A 500w into 4 ohms amp into a fender rumble 4x10 which is 500w @ 4ohms or 2) The same amp into a Gk 212 MBE which is 600w @ 8ohms but this gives me the option of adding say another 4x10@ 8ohms at a later date. i.e when got more money. Thanks a lot gents, however i have more dumb questions. Just say an amp (solid state) is 500w into 4 ohms then you buy two cabs one 4 ohms one 8 ohms, according to icastles calculator thing that would be 2.67 ohms. Would that damage the amp? Is the 500w into 4 ohms its minimum? It may not seem like it but this is helping loads even if i don't fully grasp it. i'm getting the basic message. I think!
