1. One of my mates is from the Isle of Wight and used to gig quite a bit when she lived there, I'll see if she knows of anywhere next time I see her.
2. Just done this to my Warwick, so far so good with no adjustments, but I'll be keeping an eye on it.
3. Hmmm, those do look interesting. According to GAK they're due in November, although whether they mean 2007 (and haven't updated the site) or 2008 I'm not sure. I'd guess 2007, seeing as I can't imagine selling many of them six months in advance.
4.
Guy Berryman's blue Ric, as seen here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GBqRj8LwwEA
Forgot to say why... Well, probably because I've always loved Rickys (both guitars and basses, I blame my dad for bringing me up on the Jam), especially the coloured ones, and I don't know anyone famous who uses a red one. If I did, that'd be the one I'd have

6. That link is for a Precision...
7.
MB1. Surely The jolly Green Giant must be the Deciding Factor here!
Haha, surely the real question is whether to go for the jolly green giant or the David Dickinson-esque orange bloke on the other amp!
8. I'm very seriously considering getting one of these as a replacement for my old, no-name poweramp, for the weight if nothing else. Plus, it would give me an excuse to buy another cab. Decisions, decisions...
9. That SR5 looks incredible. Best Ltd Edition bass that EB have put out IMO.
10.
1, No I didnt. Im saying techniques such as Dickens's are at the limit....there aint much else to develop,i think all the tools are there to learn, and the only way the instrument,we use, is going to develop is to physically change,if its going to exist into the next 100 years...
How can you possibly know? Do you really think the first electric bass players of the 50's ever envisaged people like Bill Dickens (to use your example) playing the way he does? I agree with Sibob (who was actually agreeing with someone else), this is calling for change for change's sake. You can only change the way an instrument is designed or played so much before it becomes a different instrument altogether.
11. I walked past Leslie Ash and Lee Chapman at Thorpe Park once.
12. Nick Oliveri was a big one for me when he was in QOTSA, but now you mention it I'm struggling to think of any others...
13. Chad Smith, Jose Pasillas or Chad Sexton.

Mistakes

Sting falling on the piano and then laughing at the beginning of Roxanne by The Police immediately springs to mind.
15. Details below. The V-Amp Pro is one of the best bits of kit I've ever used (albeit a bit flimsy), so many different, useable tones if you're prepared to spend a bit of time with it.
16. I'm nothing to do with the seller, but I have one of these so might as well answer while I'm passing through. 300W @ 8 Ohms 24" x 24" x 15" (HxWxD) 65 lbs Everything else here.
17.
My twelve year-old got a Lovely violetburst DaisyRock Stardust Elite active bass which she's been after for about two years, complete with a set of 32" thomastic flats and extra wide white leather strap. It was a complete surprise to her so her face was an absolute picture when she opened it. I got the bladerunner 5 DVD box set tin, but I have to sit through the DVDs the kids got before I can watch any of it - Shrek 3, High School Musical 2, and very episode of Mr Benn. Oh Well...
Got my girlfriend High School Musical 2 and was (inevitably) subjected to it a couple of hours later. Good luck is all I can say... I got absolutely nothing musical whatsoever, although the £30 cash will most likely go towards a new strap or cymbal.
18. Ooooh, that's a toughie. Probably whichever one I saw first, the Warwick or the ATK, but I don't tend to get emotionally attached to instruments so the other one would be easily replaced.
19. Not expecting a very material-heavy Christmas in the Stephens household this year. What I'm really hoping for is: - To spend some time catching up with one of my favourite people in the whole wide world, who I haven't seen in four months - To spend some proper time with my family after three and a half months at university - To have some good old fashioned, bring the house down-style gigs while all various band members in the same place for a change - To have all the tracks for my (other) band's first EP all nice and recorded And finally: - To drink enough Bucks Fizz at breakfast to get trollied by lunchtime, then eat so much I explode Perfect.
20. First gig was some pretty simple church-style stuff after about 6 months. Can't remember how bad it was - probably very - but what I can remember was how good it felt to be up there, playing in front of people.
21. Another one for Beeswing, amazing song. Also, Behind Your Eyes and Intermission by Nine Black Alps.
