SOLD

Back to the top after a couple of months - feel free to make me an offer.
2. As requested, a couple of pics of the back (showing a bit of buckle rash) and one of the only other ding on the bass:
3. A few photos:
4. For a straight sale I'd be looking for about £350. Should have some photos should up tomorrow.
5. As the title suggests, just seeing if there's any interest in my Corvette, for the simple reason that it just isn't getting played and is simply taking up space. I bought it brand new in January last year, although IIRC the serial number dates it to November 2006. All in fully working order, just seems silly having it lying around the house when it could be being played. If you're interested, I'll entertain all offers at the moment - the worst I can do is say no, so let me know what you've got (cash, other instruments, lager etc). Photos are available on request, as I can't upload them right now but should be able to over the next couple of days. Thanks for looking, Joe.
6. I think it depends on what he's selling at the time. Nice bass btw, nothing says "Eighties" like a Kubicki.
7. Out of that list I'd recommend Ashdown, although I'd be more inclined to go for the 2x10 combo rather than the 1x15. I'm not a big Trace fan, but if you like the tone that looks like a pretty good deal to me.
8. Are you after an amp just for practicing on your own, or would you be using it in a band context as well?

SOLD !!!

Don't suppose you'd be interested in a trade for a Warwick Corvette...?
10.
Indeed it is, have you seen them live? can you believe the amount of equipment?
Yeah, first time I saw them was about 5 years ago, they're about my age and from the same town as me so I used to see them week in, week out. They've always had stacks of gear, even when they were kids. Nice enough bunch of guys, but that second van did turn up more often than not
11.
We played with a band once that had 2 guitarists they had 8 4x12's 2 TSL100's each and an array of vintage gibsons. We hadv a running joke that they were waiting for the second much bigger van that contaned there ego's along with a life size gold statue of the band. This is one of them at a pub gig.
Well I never, surely that can't be Liam from "bodybuilding metal" band Angst? Haven't seen them in ages, that picture just reminded me why. I've only ever taken a spare when both my basses were tuned the same, one active, one passive, and I couldn't find a spare 9v battery. Apart from that I've always risked it.
12. ...aaaaand back again.
13. Another vote for the ATK. Less than £350 for a new one, leaving a bit of cash to go towards a rig upgrade as well (which, I agree, is worth checking out before looking at new basses).
14. If it's on a Sunday I'm almost definitely in. The Harlequin sounds like a brilliant idea as well, seeing as it's only a 20-minute train journey from here. That'd save me having to drive and missing out on the bar

SOLD

Bump.
16. I do love me some metal but don't play it as much as I'd like. Most of the metal bands from round here do the KsE/Trivium thing, whereas I'm more into Tool, Isis, Neurosis, Botch, Mastodon and SikTh (amongst others). Main inspiration would probably be Jeff Caxide of Isis, although all the bands I listed have got top bass players.

BUMP
18. Equally shamelessly, I've also got a lovely Yamaha fretless P for sale that I originally bought for the same reason as you, yours for a hundred notes (ish).

And back to the top again...
20. I agree. Makes a change from all the "This place ain't what it used to be!" threads and comments as well.
21. Yeah, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a way round it. And talking of the fabled MM QC, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problems if you bought a used bass from a reputable store and had it shipped over here. Plus, you'd end up saving yourself even more money that way.
22.
$700 seems good for a stingray.... I wouldn't have said £700 was much of a bargain. That £700 would get you a brand fire new one in the states, and there's no way that VAT, import duty and shipping should be doubling the price. It certainly didn't when I imported my OLP MM32 (which I only did because they weren't available in the UK when I got it). Fair enough if people want to pay £700 for a 2nd hand one, but it seems well over the odds to me.... And personally I would (and do!) have one of the HH OLPs over a SUB. Sure, the setup from the factory on the OLPs may not be as good as the SUBs, but they're cheap enough to budget for a setup in the cost - and you also get the HH, active, 3EQ setup which you don't with the SUB. Depends if you're more concerned about brand name on the headstock and resale value, or the sounds and versatility, I suppose.... but my OLP sounds the nuts. Now if only I could play it well enough to do it justice....
With regards to the bit in bold, yes you can get a brand new StingRay for the equivalent of about £700 in the US, but as far as I know you aren't allowed to import them brand new. By that I mean that you can't order one from somewhere like Bass Central and have it delivered to the UK, you actually have to go over there and buy one, then bring it back with you. Not positive, but I'm pretty sure that's the case.
