1. Yeah, I saw that on their website the other day. I'm in no position to buy but I was planning a trip down there while I'm back home in a couple of weeks anyway, so I'll have to go and see what they've actually got in stock. It'll be interesting to see if Chris is still trying to sell everyone that walks in the door a Fender 50s Precision when there's a couple of BG's or DD's hanging on the wall.
2. Lots of Mars Volta, particularly off the last two albums - Tetragrammaton, Viscera Eyes, Aberinkula, Wax Simulacra and Goliath especially. Juan Alderete can really play, very tasteful as well.
3. Right then, apparently the Studio and the Squadron are your best bets, I think both are in Ryde but I'm not sure.

Bass wait!

Blimey, that does look a bit special, not bad for just over 200 quid. It'd be interesting to find out if it came from the Cort factory, especially since they "discontinued" the Curbow 6 a while ago...
5. If you don't mind a bit of flame maple and binding, Fender also do an Aerodyne Precision to go along with the Jazz.
6. A tip of the hat to you sir, that looks stunning. Looking forward to hearing it
7. One of my mates is from the Isle of Wight and used to gig quite a bit when she lived there, I'll see if she knows of anywhere next time I see her.
8. Just done this to my Warwick, so far so good with no adjustments, but I'll be keeping an eye on it.
9. Hmmm, those do look interesting. According to GAK they're due in November, although whether they mean 2007 (and haven't updated the site) or 2008 I'm not sure. I'd guess 2007, seeing as I can't imagine selling many of them six months in advance.
10.
Guy Berryman's blue Ric, as seen here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GBqRj8LwwEA
Forgot to say why... Well, probably because I've always loved Rickys (both guitars and basses, I blame my dad for bringing me up on the Jam), especially the coloured ones, and I don't know anyone famous who uses a red one. If I did, that'd be the one I'd have

12. That link is for a Precision...
13.
MB1. Surely The jolly Green Giant must be the Deciding Factor here!
Haha, surely the real question is whether to go for the jolly green giant or the David Dickinson-esque orange bloke on the other amp!
14. I'm very seriously considering getting one of these as a replacement for my old, no-name poweramp, for the weight if nothing else. Plus, it would give me an excuse to buy another cab. Decisions, decisions...
15. That SR5 looks incredible. Best Ltd Edition bass that EB have put out IMO.
16.
1, No I didnt. Im saying techniques such as Dickens's are at the limit....there aint much else to develop,i think all the tools are there to learn, and the only way the instrument,we use, is going to develop is to physically change,if its going to exist into the next 100 years...
How can you possibly know? Do you really think the first electric bass players of the 50's ever envisaged people like Bill Dickens (to use your example) playing the way he does? I agree with Sibob (who was actually agreeing with someone else), this is calling for change for change's sake. You can only change the way an instrument is designed or played so much before it becomes a different instrument altogether.
17. I walked past Leslie Ash and Lee Chapman at Thorpe Park once.
18. Nick Oliveri was a big one for me when he was in QOTSA, but now you mention it I'm struggling to think of any others...
19. Chad Smith, Jose Pasillas or Chad Sexton.

Mistakes

Sting falling on the piano and then laughing at the beginning of Roxanne by The Police immediately springs to mind.
21. Details below. The V-Amp Pro is one of the best bits of kit I've ever used (albeit a bit flimsy), so many different, useable tones if you're prepared to spend a bit of time with it.
22. I'm nothing to do with the seller, but I have one of these so might as well answer while I'm passing through. 300W @ 8 Ohms 24" x 24" x 15" (HxWxD) 65 lbs Everything else here.
