2.
got to be the jetglo for me, here's mine but they do look good in most colours
Woodster - you've stolen my bass and Avatar Got to agree on the Blackstar - stunning looking basses
 3. I have no idea what the Fernandes is! I would have guessed the Precision, but I'm thinking its a trick question so I'll opt for the Squier. Great track BTW
 4.
Word of warning on the Gotoh 201 - I fitted one on a MIM Jazz a couple of years ago. Ignoring other considerations (most of which are subjective anyway), the thicker baseplate made it impossible to get a really low action on the Jazz. I (just) achieved an action I was happy with, but only by having the 'G' saddle virtually flat on the baseplate.
Wouldn't shimming the neck solve that?
 5.
Good Lord...
6.
MB1. ...Not originally fretless!
That's what I thought too. The think the bass is genuine. Fender certainly made a series in the 80s with that logo and headstock, but I've never seen a fretless one.
 7.
The blue colour's name you mention was called exactly that, Blueburst.
They also did the rather oddly named "blueboy" finish as a recent colour of teh year. A very cool looking pale blue - but still not as cool as black
 8. Got to be Jetglow. Preferrably with black pickguard and Trussrod cover
 9. I can't comment on the BTC control, but I've got a P-retro I bought used on here, but have never got round to fitting, and would be happy to let go cheap. PM if you're interested!
 10. Any interest in a trade for a CIJ '51 reissue Precision?
 11.
Bargain! Thats a great bass for the £££
+1. Fantastic price for one of these!
 12. A good price for a great bass. But nothing much seems to be selling at the moment.
 13.
The stock may carry a 72 SN, but probably not fitted to the body till some time later. It wasn't uncommon.
Normally I'd agree, but the odd thing here is that the serial number is on the back of the three bolt neck plate, which Fender weren't making in 1972. But it I a 72 SN. So puzzling, but I suspect just a quirk in the serial number used - Fender Serial Numbers are notoriously inconsistent.
 14. Yep - apparently the ripped cones helped! Assuming you're not up for that, a Precision, played with a pick near the bridge, ought to get you close, especially with some tweaking of your Ashdown Lomenzo to give some crunchiness short of fuzz. Cracking song by the way!
 15. I think it is a 405. I used to own one, and they'er cracking basses for the money.
 16. Not described as an ATK, and no -bids at present. Looks like a potentially good deal for someone. 17. Bought a P-retro from Gareth. Good price and quick delivery! Thanks!
 18. This is a good thread covering the five day one-to-one course as well: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/15736-5-day-shuker-course/page__hl__lwtait and I've played the said Taitycaster, and its excellent!
 19.
PMT took over a few of the sound control's who's staff i found were always a bit stiff until you get to know them
I think this is a good point. I think the ones's cited above in the "good category" are part of the original PMT chain (Birmingham, Northampton). They took over several of the old Sound Control Stores a few years back (certainly Leeds and Norwich, probably Bristol?). Sound Control were never as user friendly in my experience...
 20. I can't speak for their online service, but I have regularly used their Birmingham store, and in my experience customer service is first rate.
 21.
Just Think this cost about £200 in 1975. Hindsight A !! Could i convince the wife £1600 is better off in this bass than in the bank
That's what I told Mrs1964 when I bought mine! It's probably true as well in the current climate. Good investment and a lovely bass - you can't lose
 22. Yep - sorry, was sold months ago! I've updated the thread!
