  1. Ha, I could just send you the links!
  2. I just got an email today with the link to to the stuff they're selling on their own site. A nice chrome fronted ABM 600, 4BTAs, a cartload of Retroglide 800s, LB550s..... lovely stuff..
  3. yeah looking around a bit that's a definite possibility. Yup now I've photos I agree, I was going off memory before. The treble bleed sounds very feasible, I always thought it was a bit brighter than my '75 anyway...
  4. Could be a resistor not an additional capacitor, I've heard of these on early Precisions, just trying to get some pics....
  5. I've six different Precisions and four different wiring variations. Only one has been modified, by me! Anyway, I've a 72 Precision with an additional green capacitor soldered over the volume pot. This is in addition to the more regular .05 capacitor.. I'll try to get some photos but does anyone have any idea if this is standard, or a common mod from a particular time? i've never seen it before.
  6. I've just sold my CMD121P and kept the Rumble 500. The Markbass is brilliant but it did need the extension cabinet when I wasn't through the PA. Running both cabs was superb though and a really small footprint. The Rumble on it's own is light, stylish and loud and will be fine without PA support, but if you really need extra oomph then the 210 extension is great.
  7. I do exactly the same as you. Following @kevin_lindsay's advice I typed www.thomann.co.uk and it gave me a GBP only site. I haven't ordered from it yet but I will. Now when I go to thomann.de/gb I get the GBP only version. I assume it's something to do with the stored cookies?
  8. what app did you use? I'm using Gigbook but I don't really like it....
  9. Does it work out cheaper or are the prices inflated to cover the exchange rate?
  10. I stand corrected, although I have never been charged in GBP , I've always been charged the EUR rate converted, I've just looked at some recent statements. Maybe I'm accessing the wrong site.
  11. Thomann will always charge you in EUR. Their GBP prices are indicative only and their conversion rates don’t always match to what your bank will charge so its highly likely what you end up getting billed in GBP is not what you saw on screen In GBP. Someone on here told me once about using AmazonPay to get the best rates but I forget how that works, to be honest.
  12. Do you have the original G&G case that these come with? It should have the tweed case with orange lining
  13. And you could include B7K ultra/AO ultra/GK Plex and a few others.... all with DI, aux-in, headphones, etc. The key factor of the Tone Pocket for me is that it’s rechargeable so you’re not tied to a power supply.
  14. I found a review on Amazon where one chap had contacted Ashdown. The green light goes out after a fast charge but a full charge takes 14 hours or so? I’ve never charged mine for that long. Tricky thing is that there’s no indicator to show a full charge.....
  15. Yes it is an aux in. Volume controlled from the source device (phone, iPad etc.) 🙂
  16. How long does yours take to charge? Using the supplied power supply the green light goes out after about half an hour on mine. It can’t be fully charged after 30 minutes can it?
  17. Yes exactly. you have to control anything plugged in to the 3.5mm socket from the source unit, there's no additional volume control on the Tonepocket. That price you found on Reverb looks good! £4 less than I paid!
  18. There's a difference between a headphone amp and something you can plug headphones in to though. A lot of the new batch of preamp pedals have headphone and aux in sockets. They still need a fixed power source and aren't really that small and portable but serving the purpose of a practice tool, I agree, they're a great solution. (my Darkglass amp has this facility too)
  19. Well I bought one. I am really impressed. It's really small and the build quality is excellent. Solid metal, no plastic, smooth turning pots, with three charging options. I think it does have an Ashdown type sound in it, although there's no drive function to blend in. Even using the line-in the amount of noise is negligible. It comes with a clip that you can attach to a belt or strap so is pretty portable. a jack inserted in to the input turns it on so remember to unplug it. It really is small! Hopefully the photos show that with a iphone 7. It comes with connectors and charger too. It takes a couple of hours to charge and I'm getting maybe four hours out of it at the moment. The line out is nice - balanced - and not affected by the volume control. USB connectivity to PC as a recording interface too.
  20. Sometimes it's not the amp itself, but the condition it's been left in by the number of bass players who simply don't care because it's not their gear. What started out as a passable or good amp ends up being left in a terrible condition. Then you find FOH engineers using DI boxes instead as they're more reliable.
  21. Did you ever do a review? I got an email from Ashdown today for these with 10% off. I love the Ashdown sound so this is a possibility for me. I used to use a Tascam BT MP1 which was excellent in it's day, but only 1GB of storage and poor battery life as well as limited tone controls.
  22. There's probably a reason you find a lot of Ashdown combos. They're pretty reliable and don't cause a problem for FOH engineers.
  23. Don't know if this has been posted already or if this is the right forum but Line6 has issued a warning and update instructions for G10 models https://line6.com/g10recall/ Worth noting.
